Hoffenheim will offer a permanent deal rather than a loan w/ obligation - you got to think that’s more attractive for both Leverkusen and Hlozek
-
-
But you would’ve hoped promotion / sales (KDH, Maresca) / release of high earners etc. - might have improved things somewhat
-
I think our financial situation is way worse than people realise. I expect Rudders thought they would loan him to us for the season at minimal cost. Once he found out the conditions we had no choice other than not to progress

Jordan Ayew (interest confirmed by Percy)

Sounds like none of the more exciting links can happen until we shift players out and as per usual we can’t get this part done as so many of the turds are on mega money and are happy to take their wage. Trying to remain optimistic but it’s getting more difficult the closer we get to the season opener and hearing nothing but rumours without substance -
Looks like Cooper is getting his wish of signing players with Prem experience. like others have said, this season is just about staying up against the odds and then building a foundation if we can achieve that
-
Noise coming out of Turkish journo’s seem to be hinting that Palace are still very much in the equation…can see this being another ‘nearly’ transfer to add to the others
-
So we’re paying £7m loan fee. Galatasaray paying his wages if his goals keep us up then £7m is peanuts
-
If it’s Ornstein then it’s genuine
-
Tidy player. Tough in the tackle and looks after the ball. Not the creative influence we are after but hopefully that’s next on the list left footed, which gives us balance
-
likened to Yoane Wissa at Brentford who I think is a very useful player
-
if he's better than Daka then gerrrimin
-
Back to Ayew it is then…
-
I think the only way we get this done is the fact we can probably offer the highest wage. Sporting wise - he can join clubs in Europe vs a team who are fighting relegation. going to come down to what makes the player tick, and if it’s money then perhaps we could be favourites
-
So is this guy our KDH replacement or more competition out wide?
-
Gone are the days where deals are done at the training ground - often deals are negotiated in posh hotels out of sight.
-
But didn’t we all want Ayew? in all seriousness, if this lands then another example of how we should just ignore the long, drawn out speculation links as it’s not the way we like to operate. when players actually arrive the deal tends to be already done when we first hear about the link (eg Okoli)
-
Wonder what sort of fee? £10-£12m + addons?
-
The only player I can think of recently where that has worked is Lookman and we still managed to bollocks that one up.
-
He's not good enough or proven enough to warrant 100k per week. Move on You could get two midfielders from abroad (not sure who) for those wages and stick them on £50k a piece

It must be Cooper that is pushing for this deal, he’s worked with him previously and is the one selling the dream to the board that we need seasoned Premier League pro’s to stand any chance of staying up. they should be focusing all efforts on signing creative, progressive, ball carriers in midfield (O’Riley as an example) not more wide forwards. the way we are going we’ll have a low block defensive line, that when we break are relying on Winks, Soumaré and N’didi to carry the ball and find the creative wide men - there’s more creativity in a house brick than that trio of midfielders (don’t try and convince me that Wilf is a Prem level number 8 as he’s not) good grief I need to chill out 😆 -

I get your point, but we’ve signed BDR to tick that box, do we really need another similar player at 32yrs old? If things don’t work out we’ll likely have BDR, Vestergaard, potentially Ayew all on high wages, 3 yr contracts, back in the Championship - surely it’s better to try and go for younger, hungry players who at least have something to prove. -

Meanwhile Bournemouth have just signed a highly rated and young Spanish defender from Juventus…exactly the type of signing we should be making instead we’re in for journeymen -

This is an utter disgrace if true. Let's hand out 3yr contracts to 32yr olds looking for a final pay day. -
