Who do you want for next season in the PL
kingpowerout replied to Fightforever's topic in Transfer Talk
I think all parties are waiting Leicester - waiting for prices to go down as selling clubs are forced to sell either to balance the books or bring in new players themselves Selling Club - waiting for better offers Player - waiting to see if a club in a better predicament than Leicester come in for him. All points to a busy last few days of the window -
Southampton signings remind me of how we used to operate. Nothing, then all of a sudden boom and the player has signed - under the radar. none of this long ass drawn out shite a La Soule, Ayew, Zaha, Fotis, Hlozek etc etc the list goes on (Okoli is the exception)
-
Saints doing even more business…but it’s OK we’ll just take our time
-
Yeah, that is a head scratcher. If he was a left footed CB then I could kind of understand it but seems a bizarre buy
-
Don’t underestimate the pull of playing in the Premier League and the wages we can offer. In most cases those factors will always trump who the coach is. and by high level, I probably mean high ceiling I.e. Under 25 who can improve and who we can sell on for profit further down the line e.g. Hlozek, Fotis, Asprilla, O’Riley etc
-
I can only think that we are in for fairly high level players who are waiting to see all offers before making a decision, but that there will come a point in the final 2-3 days of the window that either the parent club will push the player to leave or the other offers won’t materialise and the player will make a decision to join us. Very high risk strategy IMO

Anyone checked on @Ric Flair ?
-
You have to laugh 😆 on to the next one…
-
Hoffenheim will offer a permanent deal rather than a loan w/ obligation - you got to think that’s more attractive for both Leverkusen and Hlozek
-
-
But you would’ve hoped promotion / sales (KDH, Maresca) / release of high earners etc. - might have improved things somewhat
-
I think our financial situation is way worse than people realise. I expect Rudders thought they would loan him to us for the season at minimal cost. Once he found out the conditions we had no choice other than not to progress

Jordan Ayew (interest confirmed by Percy)

Sounds like none of the more exciting links can happen until we shift players out and as per usual we can’t get this part done as so many of the turds are on mega money and are happy to take their wage. Trying to remain optimistic but it’s getting more difficult the closer we get to the season opener and hearing nothing but rumours without substance -
Looks like Cooper is getting his wish of signing players with Prem experience. like others have said, this season is just about staying up against the odds and then building a foundation if we can achieve that
-
Noise coming out of Turkish journo’s seem to be hinting that Palace are still very much in the equation…can see this being another ‘nearly’ transfer to add to the others
-
So we’re paying £7m loan fee. Galatasaray paying his wages if his goals keep us up then £7m is peanuts
-
If it’s Ornstein then it’s genuine
-
Tidy player. Tough in the tackle and looks after the ball. Not the creative influence we are after but hopefully that’s next on the list left footed, which gives us balance
-
likened to Yoane Wissa at Brentford who I think is a very useful player
-
if he's better than Daka then gerrrimin
-
Back to Ayew it is then…
-
I think the only way we get this done is the fact we can probably offer the highest wage. Sporting wise - he can join clubs in Europe vs a team who are fighting relegation. going to come down to what makes the player tick, and if it’s money then perhaps we could be favourites
-
So is this guy our KDH replacement or more competition out wide?
-
Gone are the days where deals are done at the training ground - often deals are negotiated in posh hotels out of sight.
-
But didn’t we all want Ayew? in all seriousness, if this lands then another example of how we should just ignore the long, drawn out speculation links as it’s not the way we like to operate. when players actually arrive the deal tends to be already done when we first hear about the link (eg Okoli)
