  1. A front line of Fats, Mavididi and Patson should be capable of scoring loads
  2. I suspect away from the spotlight he will be a perfectly competent goalkeeper. He clearly doesn't have the mental strength for the top level. I suspect he pulls off worldies in training, but freezes under pressure.
  3. That Bournemouth game. Midsummer of course. I sat at the bottom of my garden for about an hour I was so grumpy about that one.
  4. So current LCFC is too miserable for words. Me and my mates tried to define the games that marked the beginning, and the end of our glorious era? We agreed on the 5-3 Man Utd game as the beginning. At the time perhaps the most extraordinary game I’d seen. The end? Blowing a 2 goal lead at home to Brentford in August 2022, when our according to the BBC report ā€˜There is so much talent running through this Leicester team but there have been suggestions that momentum could be waning after a dormant summer in the transfer market so far.’ You know what happened after that. September 2014 to August 2022. A wonderful 8 years
  5. Genuinely can’t wait for this season to be over. It’s utterly joyless being a Leicester fan at the moment
  6. Agreed ours is not unique in being over-priced and lousy, but off the top of my head Spurs, Brighton and Brentford offer better quality, better value, and even the occasional smile from the staff who work there.
  7. This is an excellently articulated article @The Fosse Way.
  8. I feel you can see that we have a game plan now, and at times play some decent stuff. I'd argue that last night against Palace was about as well as we can play. But they had better strikers, and we have terrible central defenders - all of them. And we can't keep changing managers. We can't afford to paying millions in compensation. I've accepted that in all likelihood we will go down. I just hope next season we blood the likes of Nelson and Alves, and see if we can build a new team recruiting from the lower leagues and Scandinavia.
  9. Coady was marking Haarland, moves away from him just before the cross is played. Leaving Haarland unmarked. Total basics frankly.
  10. I was sorely tempted to leave at half time but stayed until 87. About the third time I’ve left early in 50 years. Miserable, cold and deflated.
  11. Not even any half time ā€˜entertainment’ any more. Not that it would have lifted the mood today. Feels like the whole club has given up, apart from the e-commerce team imploring me to buy more overpriced tat
  12. I’ve seen a few terrible performances over the last 50 years. That first half was right down there. Wolves are poor. They barely lifted a finger and slaughtered us.
  13. And devoid of atmosphere.
  14. after 19 games, so yes
  15. You would though. Be honest.
  16. So I obviously live in Hertfordshire. For last night's game my son and I came up on the train (Ā£45 each). Stayed in a decent Airbnb on Cambridge Street (Ā£100). Train to London for me this morning (Ā£45). He took a train back to Manchester, where he works. Then there's the season tickets. I'm lucky, I can afford to do this and choose to do so. But it is ridiculous, and making it an 8.15pm kick off is vile. So too is VAR. But because we won, and this made me happy, I then went and spent money in the club shop despite a few weeks ago vowing not too because it's full of overpriced rubbish. The powers that be know we are hopeless addicts.
  17. And ā€˜this is embarrassing’
  18. I’m sitting in the Brentford end. Neighbour - Southampton and Ipswich were poor, but nowhere near as bad as these
  19. Absolutely this! I can hear that phrase so clearly
  20. It’s barely worth debating anymore. He’s so clearly out of his depth, and I think he knows it too. I think the squad we have is just about capable of survival, just, but we need leadership and ambition to have a chance
  21. We so desperately need an exciting against the odds result to reinvigorate the club. I absolutely cannot see where it will come from, but I guess you’ve gotta have hope or what’s the point?
  22. What a blow for the lad and us. Remarkably, the website posted this update an hour ago. The left hand and the right hand of our Club seem totally detached Ben Nelson was forced off just over an hour into Oxford United’s 1-0 triumph over Hull City at Kassam Stadium last Tuesday, due to injury, and missed the U’s latest league outing – a narrow defeat to Watford. The defender has made a positive impact since joining Des Buckingham’s newly promoted side, but it remains to be seen if he will be available to return to their squad when hosting Middlesbrough next weekend.
  23. Very similar feeling for me too. Although I’m not a big purchaser of replica kits I think the realisation that a shirt now costs Ā£70 shocked me. It’s just vile profiteering. Not the biggest problem we face, but a symbol of something deeply unpleasant. I hope we can find a new owner with passion for the project, a new director of football, and an enthusiastic young manager
  24. Whatever happens this season, every home game should be a non stop tribute to this legend. We will never ever see the likes of him again. Sing his name. Remember your favourite Vardy goal. Savour every minute we have left of him.
  25. I think that’s the point. Everyone is just going through the motions. The chairman has lost interest. The media is the same every week. The social media is the same every week. The defending is the same every week. The excuses are the same every week. All we have left are memories and one last season of the legendary Vards.
