We really should get through it. The break suits us better. The new ball won't matter that much apart from the fact it will travel faster to the boundary. (blind optimism - coupled with a smidgen of realism)
I can't believe Charlie Hull hasn't won a major. I hope she's not the next Colin Montgomorie. (I've set up a joke for myself there, but I'm way too woke to make it)
**** the hundred. This is cricket - and so is the 4 day county game (which gets **** all coverage by sky - so they shouldn't go pretending they love the game). Rant over. For now.
The fact that Brook (who's innings was a classic - better than Root's imo), was caught by Siraj, who let him off on the boundary, is pure poetry. It's an amazing game cricket.
Personally I would have put Smith in ahead of Bethell. He would have been a better partner for Root at that time. Hell - I'd have put Overton in ahead of Bethell.
Even the weather wants to get involved. ****ing brilliant cricket is. And going off for bad light is CLASSIC cricket. Red ball under floodlights is a no no for me.
The ball will fly off the bat if they take the new ball. We'll get the runs in no time if Gill is foolish enough to take it. (That's my absurdly optimistic take on it)
