Was quality last night. What we've been hoping to see all season really. Think it's fair that he's dropped all the way down the pecking order with average performances and being away, but he has to be on every squad. The other 3 all are very similar and he's the only one who can play with his back to goal and drop into space. Particularly noticeable in the Boro game when we weren't creating anything (before the barrage at the end of the game)

Jesus man. He has a virtually flawless game until that sitter. Cannon has definitely been harshly treated but I'd like to point out that Vards has missed lots of great chances this season and you certainly wouldn't get an all round performance of that standard from him these days.

The likes of Justin, Ricardo, KDH, Mavididi and Daka all had fantastic games minus one big error for some of them. That's a good sign and not really anyone who had a shocker (despite how people will now want to make that the narrative). The concern as I said before the game, is what does this say about our ability to compete against the teams around us, if we're in the Prem next year? We're not getting 10 new players so something big has to change mentality wise. We need a big response now where we win 5/6/7 in a row to assert our dominance and change the narrative a bit

It absolutely doesn't, that's why it's called luck . Much like the most stupid saying I'm existence; you make your own luck . The point is that it is totally chance with no probability attached to it. But we certainly can't be sitting here thinking how unlucky we've been this season. Last night was incredibly unlucky but we've won plenty of games when we haven't been great and things to tend to go your way when you're at the top.

No he doesn't. He's clearly been told to be more conservative or had words about something else that is forcing him to do that. He was basically playing as a wing back today so that's not on him. Did nothing going forward on that we can agree but his decision making has been the very thing that separates him from most players his age

He has apart from that absolute brain fade when he had about 10 chances to pass and did nothing. Fatawu is definitely been given a word about something because he's lost confidence to take people on, especially on the outside

This is the game to slow things down if ever there was one. Just get a little more control on things if possible.

No pressure in one sense on this game. Lose here and we're still massively in the driving seat. However, an authoritative win is needed because we've been poor against the teams around us and would open up a few cracks about our ability against better teams. Both Ipswich games we should have been in total control of but sloppy and passive second halves, Leeds we were just well below par and granted a good win over Southampton but that was when they were a completely different beast.

Or is it a case of modern society where everything is black and white? Been really good this season but not half as good as some people have made out. Whenever we've been up against it, he's often the one who gets exposed. Definitely earned his chance next year and hopefully his renewed confidence means we'll see a completely different version to what we last saw in the Prem (he'll certainly be better!). But we definitely need to be looking at an upgrade in that position even if it's somebody to bed in over the season. He'll be 32 going into next season so he's not the answer long term. As for today, did some really good things but unfortunately a hell of a lot of woeful positioning, decision making, execution etc.

Did they? We basically didn't start creating any chances until the 80th minute. Imagining rocking up at the KP as an away team, having a 2-0 lead for so long and it being so easy for you. Bet they couldn't believe their luck.
