...you wouldn't call Vardy a defensive forward, but he leads the press upfront!!! A "defensive Forward" is a misnomer.

...I have a feeling that with the balls that we are playing into the box, he was the right type of forward that we need to convert!!! Nacho would drop off closer to the edge of the box and Daka and Vardy are not prolific headers of the ball. He may not be a lamp-post upfront, but he would be a better option than we currently have.

...I really think he could play in front of a defence, as opposed to playing on the shoulders of the last man!!! Either the £5m scenario came into play or Maresca, saw a player that he wanted and Daka would have been the one who was more likely to be offloaded. Daka I would think needs to be convinced to change his game, Maresca has probably identified where he would be better used but Daka is yet to be convinced it will play to his strengths. I think he limits himself in his game, he can shoot with either foot and be effective, but he needs to change his game. Whatever he has been doing all this time is not working, it is time for him to add more strings to his bow.

...very true, we cannot rule anything out, but we have to look at the S&C practises at this moment as it is likely it would be the root of the injury problems!!! Just watching Alves weight training, with big weights in his hands, jumping at the same time, no doubt landing with unequal force and at the same time leaning forward. This cannot be conducive to the physicality of our players and having them ready at their optimum level.

...remember the days when Rodgers was coming out and stating the injury and the possible return time!!! It was almost guaranteed that it would be twice as long, but now we are withholding information, I wonder if this is the Clubs' reaction to that?

...I believe he has those attributes, but as you say the way we play negates those strengths being at the forefront!!! I think if he was asked to create for himself it would work for him, but that would mean picking up the ball in front of defenders and running at them as opposed to looking to run in behind. He is no winger or wide forward, but he has a skill set seldom used, that marks how good he could be.

...I was not expecting that!!! The speculation was that it could be Manchester United as she did not wish to announce her new club whilst preparing for World Cup games. This looks like a chance to earn a lot of money whilst in her prime. I am not sure how she would have coped defensively playing for one of the very top teams, her lack of pace was always a factor, but she did look impressive in transitioning the ball and that would be where she would be more suited as a central midfielder.

...tactics are fundamental to success, there wouldn't be the need for the constant re-invention of the game in order to gain that upper hand!!! Manchester City have achieved success due to how they play, the ability or inability of their opponents to overcome what is before them and the quality players who implement the tactics. Did they need Mahrez, I do not think so, It had two advantages to bring him in, firstly it was a proven player who could play the system that they wanted and had the ability to outwit a defence, and secondly, it took Mahrez off the market weakening potential rivals. Football has elevated itself to chess, someone just needs to come up with a certain different approach to render current convention outdated.
