  1. ...we have had this ongoing discussion on this forum which is constantly being updated!!! Not sure why we epuld be looking to go all over this again?
  2. ...wouldn't the game be past their bedtime at about halftime!!!
  3. ...what if it has clicked already and the proof is buried in our constant inability to be efficient in the final third!!! The amount of poor decisions we have taken whilst pressing for a goal and outnumbering teams on a break, only to choose the wrong pass, has been a feature of our play for quite a few seasons. If that is the metric that we are using, then we may be a lot further forward than you think.
  4. ...I would say pretty much it depends on the opposition!!! If our opponents look to play a high line or leave sufficient space at the back, then Vardy is suited to receive balls with first-time layoffs to players running either side of him. Nacho would be more suitable as the false 9 with a team sitting deeper, but at this moment he is all over the place and not in a good way. He is not doing what he needs to do, where he links the play, comes deep, and brings a defender with him, and that opens the vacated space to be attacked. I wish he would forget about scoring goals and concentrate on the needs of the team, the goals will come as he will not be looking to force his play or taking ill-advised shots, hoping to prove something to the manager.
  5. ...I feel it will be a much stronger team than you think!!!
  6. ...not sure how many times this idea has been corrected and still people are posting this!!! Yellows in the league are punished in the league, yellows in the cups are for the cups.
  7. ...he has done the rounds this lad!!! Seemed to get the impression that he felt he was bigger than OHL, came back to us and was sold to Club Brugge for a good amount. He went out on loan to AZ and is now at Standard (on loan from Club Brugge). I have watched him playing for Club Brugge (last season), wide on the left and it always seemed that the other players did not trust to pass to him and any balls he received were an afterthought. He is a talented player who will go from club to club and not fulfil his potential, perhaps a lack of self-discipline is the cause.
  8. ...it was ruled out due to obstruction in the box, the OHL player preventing the defender from coming across to close down the shot!!!
  9. ...struggles when there is no space behind a defender that he can play a ball into and chase!!! He has been nullified again by a defender who sits in. I wanted McAteer to come on and replace him with Fatawu staying on the right. Once again he does not make the pass and has a horrendous shot at goal, someone needs to have a word no, as it seems no one has ever tried to eradicate this flaw in his game, you just knew not releasing a ball to someone better placed would rear its head again.
  10. ...if it is the Premier League, it would have to be £30 million upwards, I really cannot see anyone doing that, we are safe!!!
  11. ...wasn't there a possibility of him going elsewhere and deciding to come here was not his first choice!!! Maresca has also said that he was not up to full fitness if I recall, so it would point to someone who has not as yet bought into this plan. The fact that Ndidid is keeping him out of the team, on merit, could spur him on to prove a point, but he seems to be content with not starting as he does not pull up any trees when he does come on.
  12. ...it does feel that way, twice this season we scored and a minute later Mavididi was in to score with a good chance and he fluffed his lines!!! It felt as if he had taken them we might have overwhelmed a team at that moment, but it never happened and we had to wait to secure the game. Bristol City's pace could be a problem.
  13. ...yeah we all want that, just not humiliated!!!
  14. ...he has the knack of shooting when he runs out of ideas, he very much loves to shoot at goal!!! You get the feeling by his gait on the pitch that he brings something else to the team, he has a go-to approach to goal, where he comes inside and you can see that he wants to get a shot off, but it leads to him being on the ball too long, with him coming too central. In those instances playing someone in or a little chip ball to the back post is an option but he will choose to take the shot, where it will inevitably be blocked. He has scored spectacular long-range goals outside of the UK, but that was down to what looked like poor keepers and he needs to know, that is not going to work here, so he needs to keep those ideas in check.
  15. ...I always find this view hard to understand!!! If it was a case of just not being aware in that instance then you would write it off and take a look in the next day's analysis of why it happened. It was a choice that he made and it was a poor one and you look to stamp that type of selfishness out as it means it is going to happen again, even when games are so tight, to give us the victory.
  16. ...Liverpool will not count as a match to circumvent the punishment!!!
  17. ...I do think he believes in the system more than the individuals within the team!!!
  18. ...Maresca said he worked with Vardy in the International break, I wonder if he felt that Daka was worth the time as well!!! They are supposed to play the same way and he has taken the opportunity to adjust his game to enhance the team. I would like to think he felt that Daka could adjust his game to contribute to the effort.
  19. ...the Vardy scenario is pretty convoluted!!! If KDH chooses to play a ball back to the edge of the box from his position on the 6-yard line, he is obviously not playing the ball back to Vardy. If Vardy should choose to run back and attempt to play the ball, it could be interpreted that he had gained an unfair advantage having been in his original position. That more likely would come down to the interpretation of the referee. Simply if the recipient was ahead of the player making the pass, and the pass was behind him and behind the player making the pass, and he had to check his run to go and retrieve the ball then he would be offside.
  20. ...the answer is where the recipient was when the ball was played!!! If he is ahead of the player playing the ball then he is offside, if he is behind and even if the ball is played forward he is onside.
  21. ...did you ever see the penalty that was taken when the penalty taker rolled the ball to the side and his teammate who originally was outside the box, came charging through and scored!!! So long as the player was effectively behind the player who made the pass, then he would be onside.
  22. ...same here, as soon as the penalty was awarded I realised that Vardy was not on the pitch!!! With the way he has been playing you knew he was not going to score!! I was so relieved it went in and hoping no one had encroached as he couldn't do it again.
  23. ...just for clarification!!! Accumulating five, ten, fifteen or twenty Yellow Cards in league matches can result in an automatic ban in your relevant league. Accumulated Yellow Cards in cup competitions are treated separately and can result in an automatic ban from the cup competition in which the Yellow Cards were received.
  24. ...he (McAteer) had taken up a position that could have been a deliberate ploy by him to gain an advantage in this situation!!! A defender dropping in to cover him would be playing him onside and making it a lot easier for the attacker and making the referees job easier.
  25. ...pretty much the players gaining a better understanding of the game and seeing the bigger picture!!! These players are going to be getting such a better understanding about the game, you would nit be surprised if a lot of these players eventually end up going into management.
