...you cannot have a team that trains to the limit that they are comfortable with!!! Any manager who believes that is acceptable is crazy and is only asking for problems to manifest itself. Rodgers's assertion that his teams always finished strong was never borne out. Our midfield last season contained Tielemans, someone who would be blowing after 15 minutes, his partner was Soumare who had his own approach to his midfield duties. Much like one of my most admired teams back in the day, Ipswich Town who came up in the Premier League playing in a way where possession was the key, and like us were scoring goals after 90 minutes because they refused to put pointless crosses into the box but insisted on keeping the ball on the ground and taking the same approach from minute 1 to minute 93.

...it almost felt like he did!!! Would you be inclined to offer a longer contract on better terms to Maresca come December, if we are top and 5 points ahead of the pack?
-
...someone is going to end up in intensive care!!!
-
...whatever is going on with him, it is all in his head!!! It is either pressure that he has put on himself or pressure he feels from what is being asked of him, but either way he is not doing himself any favours. I do not believe that he sees himself doing what has been asked of him, in respect of pressing the ball and I do not believe he understands where he should be in any given situation. He just wants to drop into the pocket with players ahead of him, who he tends to use as decoys but can also link with. At this moment Maresca is not going to change his system to meet Nacho's wishes, the less confident that he is, the more errors he will make, it is a vicious circle, he either adapts or goes, I really do not think he wants to leave this club, if he keeps up these poor performances the choice will be taken out of his hands.

..yes there is another game coming up, but he has to address the decision that he made because if it gets buried under the carpet it will only repeat itself once again!!! The second situation where he elected to go on his own was slightly different, as the support was on both sides but slightly behind so perhaps not in his periphery. But it does need to be addressed as a team because KDH did the same thing with Mavididi when he was open in a previous game. It really is not about the individual, it needs to be spelt out..

...Just watching St Truidense who looks very good team, they play it around the back and break the press over and over again!!! Gent was disappointing in comparison, as I would have expected this quality from Gent as opposed to what they served up this afternoon. You could see we relished getting the point, but if OHL is looking to go to the next level, perhaps getting the St. Truidense manager in might just be a good option. They play the same way we look to play under Maresca, exciting stuff most times and they seem comfortable in what they are doing. Hoping to see Shinzi come on later.

...pretty much the right place at the right time!!! In this age where players are continually being assessed, you would think reviewing their performance the next day, their shortcomings would be pointed out and explained at length. Lookman was always in the review room, looking to improve, I suppose not all players look at the game that way.
-
...1 - 1 halftime, pretty much one-way traffic with OHL struggling to get themselves up the pitch!!! We need to hit them on the break and go back to front to open them up.
-
...1-0 up at the moment 30 minutes gone!!! Gift Orban looks like a prima donna. It's sad as he looks like a potential star.

...their team appeared to be in transition much like ours!!! Maresca stated we were at one stage 10 - 20% where we need to be, I wonder what he would say, 20% and going in the right way. Southampton needs to make a few adjustments, their keeper being replaced could push them on quicker but I am not ruling them out of anything. We all know this style of play is not easy to cultivate, and most clubs are wishing to emulate it, going forward. They contributed to a good game, even if they are not as far in their development as we have become. -

...totally different style and we would be focused on playing to Vardy's strengths!!! Vardy as always looked fit and sharp, it was the others around him that wasn't up to pressing in the same way Vardy wanted to. Stopping him doing dog legs upfront perhaps doesn't quite suit him, but it keeps him switched on, and ready to take his chance at the drop of a hat. The way we played under Rodgers meant isolation and snatching at half chances. -
...they were bewildered and apathetic, it wasn't because they had bought into what Rodgers was serving up!!!
-
...Grealish carried Villa on his back, everything but everything went through him!!! As usual Pep brings a player in to learn the ropes getting little game time and brings them into the team after a season. Ferguson did the same and Mahrez had the same treatment. You are not going to have a player doing his own thing, playing for Pep.

...he has a tendency to try and kick seven bells out of the ball when shooting!!! His first goal was an incredible mistake by the opposition's keeper, the ball came straight to him and he allowed it to squirm it at his near post. He should have been looking to pass the ball into the net. It is noticeable how many of his shots go straight to their keeper, he is always going for power instead of finesse.
-
...to say otherwise would be disruptive within the team!!! I have not read the Vardy comment but it would be on the lines of, if he felt confident in himself then take the opportunity.

...I think scoring that goal saved him, as his decision-making is poor!!! He had a second chance to play someone, and he went on his own in the end and scored, he has to see this as a team game and not judge his contribution by the goals that he scores. Nacho since the start of the season seems to think that goal-scoring is the only thing that he can bring to impress Maresca, he has to see by now that supplying is more beneficial to the team than trying so hard to impress. -

...it wasn’t as if we attempted to play 2 strikers, more a case that they were on the pitch at the same time!!! Wasn't that the time where Daka was playing wide, as opposed to him being central and Nacho dropping to supply. -
...I think it will have to happen to some other club for us to accept what we did because I still feel that it could be taken away because it should never have happened!!!
-
...I know it happened, and understand it happened, but hard to believe that it did!!!

...he needs to be taking the ball on the half-turn, not looking to play with his back to goal!!! He will have to drop that little bit more, say about 5 yards and pick up the ball in front of the opposition's defences. -
...from that list, Vardy when played was trying to lead by example, cajoling players to close down from the front, on field leadership on behalf of the team, is something that would not come easy to him!!! Evans, well we saw that he was backing Rodgers, so he felt that any role he had in this squad was safe, so why put himself out. Maddison, Rodgers golden boy, very much a Rodgers lieutenant and a selfish attitude, who did not work to embrace a team spirit. In the end believed he was the only player that could do anything of worth on the pitch. Tielemans, he led this club a merry dance and we paid for the fidler as he went through his endless repertoire. He did not have anything in him to lead, having him in the centre of the team, gave us a weak player mentally, with a weak body, who was responsible for the lack of anything resembling a spine in our midfield. Those were never the players we should have been looking to for leadership.

Viktor Kristiansen joins Bologna on loan
sacreblueits442 replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
...he obviously did not wish to play the CB role, so it made sense that he elected to find another club at least for this season!!! Players have been criticised for not taking offers to move or go on loan, and one player shows ambitionand is positive and adamant about evolving his career. You have to admire his decisive nature in this situation.- 367 replies
