A thorn in the side of safe standing. The debate needs to move beyond the opinion of somebody so horribly scarred emotionally that they will never hold a rational balanced view on this. If you funnel thousands of people into a fenced pen intended for far fewer then whether the pen had seats, (safe) rail seats or old school terraces the result is horrific crushing. Have stood for hundreds, if not thousands of hours at football matches with no incidents to myself or anybody around me. Standing is safe when the authorities manage the crowds responsibly and when you throw safe seating in then why are we even still debating this? Good to see we're making progress with the FL and fingers crossed this will happen...

The optimistic road is long, with many a winding turn, that leads us to who knows where? But we're strong, strong enough to care, we're Nigel Pearson's Leicester City and we're gonna get there.

Good man for turning your opinion around! If done properly, managing the away allocation is better, want to stand then buy a safe standing ticket else buy a seat. Stand having bought a seat ticket and you get ejected. Much better arrangement than the current situation.

Standing has continued uninterrupted since 93 with a tiny number of incidents in persistent standing areas. Politicians should be legislating based on transparent factual debates, not the output of murky quangos (SGSA) formed off the back of a gross travesty of justice at the highest levels (hilsborough) by the very people who also populate the SGSA

Wish I hadn't clicked through to the SGSA statement re: standing, a depressing read and there's a whole army of bureaucrats and vested interests (money men) determined to destroy standing for ever. I live in eternal hope that one day society will wake up from this liberty free slumber that allows jumped up nobodies to dictate if I can stand at a football match. Bad things have happened in football grounds but rudimentary mathematics confirms that you're more likely to win the lottery than die on a terrace, in fact on a safe standing terrace, you're more likely to witness Leicester dominating European football for a decade than die in a standing related incident.

Long way to go, plenty if time to get back on it before May. At least the weather was nice for this time of year at the beach. When you're smiling...
