  1. Massive earthquake across Myanmar and Thailand
  2. Hull were vile against us last season. Proper spoilers
  3. I fear this just gives Putin incentive to prolong the war. Basically gives him even less reason to agree to a ceasefire.
  4. Only the British and French are willing to send troops, and with an American backstop. The idea is that the Russians daren't attack Ukraine again because the British and French have nukes. It would be interesting to see if we would threaten to nuke Russia if they break the agreement.
  5. Really good article by Andrew Marr on where we are with ourselves and Ukraine. Basically explains the points I’ve tried to make on these pages but in a much better way https://www.newstatesman.com/international-politics/2025/03/peacekeepers-world-without-peace-andrew-marr-starmer-ukraine ”But rebuilding European security is a long game. For now, we desperately need the Nato umbrella. This year, and next, our strategic ambition should be to avoid war with a mobilised if bleeding Russia, while enabling some kind of independent Ukraine to survive. That is going to be difficult enough. Public opinion has perhaps not yet woken up fully to the seriousness of where we are. So, we need maximum candour, and clarity about the hard realities, not rhetoric about – or preparation for – a war we cannot yet fight” Ps I don’t think we should ever go to war with a nuclear power unless absolutely necessary, I like to think that the Russians feels the same way.
  6. I don’t think people realise how awful freezing universal credit payments is.
  7. Joe Allen doing the worst defending ever seen. North Macedonian’s 3 minutes later: hold my skopsko…
  8. What an unreal through ball by Joe Allen, he’s still got it!
  9. This would cause the parliamentary crisis that we deserve. Just in response to your reply yesterday, I think a lot of people feel liberal democracy is failing them even if the alternative is obviously worse. The worse living standards get, the more people are likely to reject the system.
  10. A few years ago you’d put Georgia in that bracket, now they have one of the best forward players in Europe and it wouldn’t be a massive shock if they made the World Cup. Same with Iceland a few years back and once upon a time Wales were alsorans, I don’t think they should ever pull up the drawbridge. The positive of the nations league too means that qualifying tournaments can have smaller groups so you play less poor teams more often. The nations league format may in time become the main way of qualifying anyway.
  11. Appalling piece of gamesmanship to get the free kick but good strike!
  12. Why aren’t players booked for diving anymore? Embarrassing from Rashford.
  13. The whole purpose of that article was saying that he got carried away and said stuff without doing it. It’s classic Labour under Starmer, say something to give you a (+2) in the opinion polls and worry about the impact later on.
  14. What if the current form of liberal democracy isn’t working for people anymore?
  15. The whole political system just feels completely broken. I feel completely helpless and hopeless.
  16. Last week it was “let’s get disabled people back into work”. This week it’s “AI is the most efficient use of resources for jobs” So which is it Keir?
  17. He’s been saying so for the past few weeks albeit wanting an American air cover. I’ve called it out as madness on here and get called a Russian apologist 🤷🏻‍♀️ over 50% of the population want us to put boots on the ground in Ukraine too based upon the latest Savanta, clearly they’re either idiots or haven’t been made aware of the full gravity of such thing.
  18. The best way to get over the depressing nature of what Forest is doing is remembering that people from Nottingham are just normal people like ourselves, and that life is generally very miserable and that football team success is genuinely nice for community cohesion. Just forget the identity and be content that some people are actually experiencing football joy for the first time in their miserable Nottinghamshire lives.
  19. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2025/03/23/starmer-ukraine-peacekeeping-plan-political-theatre/ Shock horror the army briefing against Starmer’s idea to send troops to Ukraine because it was always insane.
  20. This is the thing, most jobs will be at dreadful entry level wages, working in factories, care or hospitality (physically most taxing). But then forgetting that most people on PIP already work and have PIP as a top up. So people won’t have enough to live on regardless. And then their health will decline further because they can’t feed themselves, they’ll need the nhs more and hey presto you end up costing the state more money in the first place. All this is, is about balancing some short term nonsense books to get (+2 points) in the polls. They should be more honest. This was supported by a brief campaign by the Westminster power brokers in gaslighting the worst off in society to justify it. The narrative then strengthens based on very little real world evidence. Meanwhile the Westminster media machine moves on as if nothing happened, dipping their toe in the next complex topic that they know absolutely nothing about (one week it’s Ukraine then silence, then it’s benefits, this week house building and the economy). It’s vile.
  21. Greece are some team when they’re on it.
  22. Looking at Palace’s fixtures, a win here pretty much sews up survival.
  23. North Korean hackers brought down a whole NHS trust a while back and barely anything was said.
  24. I was a bit hasty but ultimately when you have the sky news defence editor within an hour calling it sabotage followed by the Estonian foreign minister then you know things are getting dicey.
  25. It wouldn’t be a drone. More likely internal sabotage by someone paid off by the SVR. Although police are saying no indication of foul play so far. But given that this would be a war starting move, I’m guessing they’ll cover it up anyway.
