  1. Faes on the right is fine in this system, we will need a better ball playing CB in the central position I think, and I think Enzo knows that too. I wonder if it'll be too soon for Nelson.
  2. It’s funny because a similar thing happens. Modern rugby is all about tactical kicking and field position. So to the disengaged eye, it looks conservative and boring, and yet the most conservative and boring plays bring you the best field position to then go for the jugular. Sound familiar?
  3. £50M?
  4. I think we’d have a lot of joy against them given our style of play, especially if our defence held up.
  5. Another 5 second delay Jota dive.
  6. Those doubting if we’ll do well next season ought to watch Chelsea. Absolutely honking.
  7. That’s surely a penalty to Chelsea?
  8. Surely winning nearly every game is 'quality football'. How can you not enjoy winning football?
  9. He will want a good 2-3 years here as his last managerial adventure was a disaster. If he walks from here at the first sign of trouble after 12 months, then he's probably finished in terms of going onto bigger things should it not work out at the next club. Nobody is going hire a person like that.
  10. Explains why Southampton are kicking on too. If ourselves and them finish in the top two then that says it all.
  11. Now this is just going in a weird, catastrophising direction. He was frustrated, it’s going to be ok. It will hopefully have galvanised the supporters. Managers say these things all of the time.
  12. Enzo, sat in his Seagrave office, checking in on foxes talk...
  13. This is very different to both of the examples you give. The aim of Enzo-ball is to use the ball to draw the opposition out of position. You pass it around the back hoping to entice the press. You then use your intricate passing skills to not only get past the press, but then utilise the space left by the press to create opportunities. Sometimes that may happen immediately (the first goal yesterday), but sometimes it'll take 50-60 of sideways passing before the opposition eventually bite, step in and leave space (goal against Ipswich). It is chess-like and yes it's not rock and roll football as Klopp called it 10 years ago, but it's incredibly intelligent and effective.
  14. It's a good job there's a summer transfer window coming up where we'll have money to spend due to losing some of our biggest earners.
  15. He's a scholar of the game. A proper proper soccer nerd. Do you think the masses were booing and criticising Da Vinci as he was painting the Mona Lisa? How would he have reacted if they did?
  16. Enzo tifo next please. Sub audacia magnus timor latet. Great fear is concealed under daring.
  17. Pearson actually had the same issues. We didn't ever play hoofball with Pearson and there was a significant amount of fans who also hated him (bizarrely). Nige and Enzo are actually from the same school of psychologically advanced coaches.
  18. I don't think they were. They actually played us at our game very well, it's just that they had little up front and a disaster waiting to happen at the back. They were patient in attack, rarely lost their shape and pressured us into making mistakes which led to them having fast transition chances which they weren't good enough to take.
  19. Personally I dont think Enzo will cut it in the Premier League. Our Football is too airy fairy and woke. We need to bring in someone like Warnock now so we have time to adjust and we'll have that hard edge to take on Premier League teams again.
  20. We will have better ball playing centre-backs next season. There is no way he starts off with Vestergaard at CB. Faes and Justin are good enough imo.
  21. First goal was a long way onside by the way.
  22. they’re going to do well to finish in the top 4 from here on in given that Spurs are starting to get players back
  23. I thought Swansea looked decent with the ball, but their dreadful defence always offered us chances. At times it was one for the tactical nerds. The frustrations of the players and crowd made us push forward when we weren’t in control, which opened up opportunity for Swansea on the turnover and transition. Patience is key in modern football. When they held possession they didn’t look a threat. It’s another win at the end of the day. Played 17 won 16 against bottom half teams now and I think 8 more wins will be enough from our last 17 (assuming we don’t lose the other 9).
