I would be tempted to play Iheanacho on the basis that he’s the one striker who can genuinely engineer something out of nothing. But he may be crap for the rest of the time.

I know it’s easy to knock footballers but it’s not hard to envisage them getting burnt out. They put their body through incredibly high levels of stress at least once a week. They have to eat a certain way, put all sorts of meds in their bodies and most of them are addicted to sleeping pills. They’re constantly judged by supporters and are probably beating themselves up based on incredibly high performance targets. It’s not healthy and it’s little wonder some do crash and burn.

Tonight’s results make it very tasty. Would be hilarious if Villa finish 5th and don’t make it.

What’s frustrating is that Cannon has looked very industrious when he’s played. He can link up like Daka and has shown he can score goals from anywhere, which is something we have missed recently.

He won’t be their first choice. It’ll either be Hirst or they’ll sign someone. They’re worth £14 billion so won’t be short of cash.

A lot less pressure on them to get promoted then. Obviously have some competent people behind the scenes unlike us.
