It's very easy to say that but some of these players need some guidance. I know for a fact that one of the players that is leaving, is leaving because he felt that the club treated him like utter crap. I won't go into the details but these are players with Leicestershire blood and would love nothing more than to play for their home county but for their own sakes, it is better for them to move on to further their careers before the management at County ruins them further.

His agent's pulled him out after initial discussions. Another example that the club management is a shambles.

That'd be pretty left wing with McDonald only being 33, plus I don't think it'd be wise to get rid of Smith unless of course, he wants to go of his own accord.

Shiv Thakor, the boy who was hitting hundreds for Leicestershire U17's when he was just 13. He got a 100 on his f/c debut and ever since his progress has fallen to pieces, firstly because Whitticase wants to make him into a bowler and secondly because of the terrible way he was treated with his finger injury.

The man-management of some of the players would simply defy belief. If it happened within a Football club, the management and board wouldn't last 2 minutes. It's a disgrace, end of.

Good to see Angus Robson get his maiden f/c hundred today. Looks well set for 1,000 runs too for the season. Also looks like Cobb has 100% signed for Northants.

Why are these players considering leaving? Because of a joke 'Director of Cricket' who quite frankly doesn't have a clue and an unambitious, self-pitying board.

It's because other counties stick their young lads in the 2nd XI, whereas if you look at ours, it's full of players who can't make the first team and trialists, so while it's good to be winning stuff, it's doing very little for the squad development.

I remember that great Reading side that got promoted with 100+ under Coppell and see similarities to us, they hardly added yet they hit the ground running and finished in the top half. There's no reason why we can't do the same.

Mike Siddall also steps down. He's done well in stabilising the club financially but on field we have been woeful. Hopefully we can get a experienced Cricket person in to help us push on.
