  1. I’ll probably be in the minority with this, but I actually think that these players deserve more than a hastily thrown together event with about 4000 people there. The time to boycott was during the season if you were going to do it.
  2. I’ve just had a look at the Kop, and 100% this would have been cancelled if business sense came over saving face. I’d say that’s maybe 10% sold, if that.
  3. Shocked and appalled that “give it jewleh, Paul Jewell” isn’t there.
  4. Enjoyed it for what it is, it’s a shame it’s not more playable though.
  5. I’m out there for the groups.
  6. Just been out for a plod of a 5k but floored it for the last half a kilometre, running my quickest ever 400m apparently. Pretty much on the pace of running 5k in 18:45, how are people maintaining that.
  7. Yeah I’ve got the chest strap, I was probably shitting myself at the start which would explain it. Plus, a KM in the first climb of 700 metres started.
  8. Mine was pretty much like “all the best buddy, enjoy yourself” then a few days after was plus 7 which is also the best it’s ever been. So weird.
  9. I don’t pay that much attention to the Garmin data, although it’s definitely lead to me significantly cutting down on booze because my sleep score is horrific every time. The one thing that did make me laugh though, was a KM into my ultra. Obviously Garmin flashes up with how ready you are for the run a KM in and sometimes it’s fair and I panic a bit, and others I laugh and ignore it… this literally gave me the worst readiness score I’ve ever had as I’ve got another 51km to run.
  10. I don’t have they have mate, it’s forbidden for them isn’t it?
  11. Foden not going is bang on, I think Palmer, Maguire and Shaw are a big mistake. Thats probably the strangest squad for a major tournament I’ve seen us take.
  12. This thread is genuine hall of fame material. Genuinely crying at our Hilde.
  13. Harsh that the pink cap hasn’t got an invite yet, clubs on its arse.
  14. 3 weeks until America for the World Cup. Boston, Dallas/FW, Austin, Big Bend National Park, Houston and New York. Really looking forward to it.
  15. Wait till you’ve softened them up in about 100 miles, you feel like you are wearing trampolines when you start to up the pace.
  16. You are right on the timings, but if you are running that pace for 5k and are flat out there is literally no chance you manage it for the entire marathon. Part of the skill/strategy of a marathon is pushing as much as you can while knowing you’ve got enough left in the tank to get to the end. Specifically for me, the 5k I ran at that pace has been on a treadmill every time. The 3 times I’ve run a marathon have been on literally no training past 7k, or mentally hilly routes where you are boarding on being an elite athlete running a marathon at that pace.
  17. You can train your body to be fine with being on your feet for that amount of time, I would never in a million years have thought I’d have been capable of it. When you are training them sort of distances as well, it’s weird how quickly time can go. Listen to a 2/3 long podcasts and it’s done. In a race situation, you’ll be counting down the markers, thinking out time to fueling, split times, seeing family and friends at certain points etc so it all gets a bit distracting… until your body starts to fall apart and every minute feels like an hour 😂
  18. It’s a tough one, because it’s a completely different experience. I’ve done the 5k on a treadmill, and **** me from about the 2nd minute it was a case of hanging on for dear life and trying to ignore how slowly the time was going. Ended up with a banging head ache a few times. Marathon wise, you are basically wrestling with yourself mentally to keep going with everything starting to hurt and I would say this is harder however I think for most it’s probably the most realistic achievement. Purely based on the amount of effort you have to put in as well, I’d say marathon. That said, if you asked me to do one of them now I’d probably do the marathon as I’d enjoy it more. This all might be a huge contradiction btw and I’m not bragging by saying I’ve done both 😂.
  19. I was told this about the away shirt, probably by the same person. Obviously means nothing in reality but fingers crossed.
  20. I think we are more likely to end up with Slug tbh.
  21. Liverpool have also got the horrendous thick adidas stripes. Quite a few of the adidas shirts look to have a long sleeve option and the trefoil, so I expect we get them.
  22. Absolutely, but that season it was probably another 3rd more on top. Playing ability wise, that’s literally the spine of the team that went up.
  23. Nothing against Enzo, he clearly worked wonders for us in somehow getting a tune out of the players and uniting the club, but based on how he came very close to not taking the most expensive Championship team in history up it always blows my mind to think how sliding doors moments happen. If Hamza hadn’t made a couple of goal line clearances against West Brom, we probably bottle promotion and he’s not getting a sniff of Chelsea or Man City. Fair play though. I thanked him for saving the club by taking us up, he’s probably not done that but through no fault of his own.
  24. We are onto concept albums now, please keep up.
