A well insulated new build, with an aircon unit would feel very pleasant this coming week.
-
I had a 12000BTU one from Screwfix and although noisy, well worth it.
-
Yeah, I had one. It was really good to be fair, if not a little noisy. I didn’t properly fit the pipe (think tumble drier through wall job) so I had it draped out of the window. It would easily take a room from ~30c down to 22c in an hour and wasn’t overly expensive to run, as it isn’t constantly running the compressor. Believe me, walking from the hallway which was ~30c into a 22c room felt like walking into a fridge!

Yeah, if i wasn’t renting I’d be having a unit installed, for the bedrooms at least. Currently in a new build and the insulation is really good, which means once the heat is in, it sticks around.

Thursday morning in Nantes at 1am it’s forecast to be 31c. Incredible.

I’m pretty much just trying to put in 4 or 5 easy 5ks a week through summer. Next week is going to be minging by the looks of it. -
Agree. There’s just no way we’d have played like we did last night under Southgate, especially given it was the first game of the group against arguably the best team we’ll play in the group. Great to see.

And I’m sat here dreading the half marathon Runna has me doing tomorrow Great effort -
Woke at 1am to lightning here. No thunder or rain, just non stop lightning for over an hour.
-
Was alright actually. The house was about 25c inside, which felt notably cooler than outside. The problem was having the doors open all day with the moving of things that let the warm air in.
-
I’m moving tomorrow and the house I’m moving into has been locked for the past few weeks

I sat near a red brick wall yesterday and it felt like sitting next to a radiator so I guess our buildings being built of red bricks doesn’t help too.

According to the Metoffice, the relative humidity in my town is 20% right now. That’s low / dry isn’t it?
-
Sooner have a day like today but 24/25c. It’s too hot.

Same. I think 5am starts are going to be the only way. -

Do you use a HR strap? I think the performance thing on Garmin uses HR readings and HRV. I’ve found HR readings during runs are garbage from the watch itself. I’ve done intervals in which my heart rate has gone up and down too fast for the watch to even register it. -

Same. If I wake up and feel like shit, I’ll look at the sleep / stress data to confirm. Booze is a big one like you say, absolutely tanks all the scores. -

Yeah, HRV was pretty much cut in half. It looks as though I’ve had 10 pints . Feels that way too! -

Felt a bit ropey yesterday evening but had a 6 mile easy run planned. Gave it a go but had to stop on 5 miles as it felt way harder than it should’ve done, although wasn’t sure if it was the warm weather doing it. Felt grim and uncomfortable all night and woke up to this, which probably doesn’t mean much to non Garmin users but it’s not good - Few days off needed I think. -
I think it clashes with the open top bus parade for this -

Well, Tielemans goal is forgotten about.
-
My barber is a Villa fan and I said the other day how Tielemans hasn’t scored a proper goal yet. There it is.
-
Tielemans probably had just been eating chocolate mousse n all
-
To add to this, when we’d go a goal down it didn’t really matter as we knew we’d come back and have a go. Going a goal down didn’t mean the crowd would turn like they have the past few seasons, which I’ll add has been merited.

14 miles for myself today. Felt the last couple of miles, but glad to get the miles in.
