  1. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Had no idea what to expect, thought it was another teenage girl movie, so was pleasantly surprised to see anal rape. Much enjoyed, 8.36/10
  2. A 5.8 would have been harsh, while a 6.0 would have been generous, so I gave it a 5.9. How is this difficult to understand?
  3. Because it wasn't worthy of a 6. I can say 59/100 if it makes you feel better. I know decimal places can be daunting.
  4. Watched Shame last night. Quite pornographic, not one for kids. I'll give it a 5.9. Although I enjoyed the film, the lead character is portrayed in this outrageously dark and evil light, considering all he really does is a bit of shagging around. The way the film was shot, you'd think that kind of behaviour was enough to drive someone to suicide
  5. Somebody calls me a naughty name.... better attempt to brutally destroy his ability to reproduce for the rest of his life. Hope he sees the inside of a jail cell for that cowardly act.
  6. Forgot to mention I also watched 50/50 recently, which I'll give a 7.1/10
  7. Yeah, the reviews are great, so I will give it another go some time. Tbh the only reason i stopped watching is because I find the Irish accent a bit irritating and I need to be in a certain mood to tolerate it.
  8. Finally watched The Hurt Locker and give it a 8.0/10 Started watching Red Road but couldn't finish it Started watching The Guard but couldn't finish it The Book of Eli --- 7.8/10 There Will Be Blood --- 8.5/10 Moon --- 8.5/10 Still have The Artist to watch. Also have The Tree of Life to watch. And I've been meaning to watch The Fountain for ages. Plus I want to go and see The Cabin in the Woods but the mrs is too scared.
  9. His story inspired me when I was young and reading the book, but the older you get, the more you realise how much of a foolish, spoilt and selfish little willy puller that guy was.
  10. 50/50 --- 7.3/10
  11. The station agent was a touching tale of unlikely friendship. Hunger games was a teenage girl hero movie. If it wasn't for the attractiveness of katniss then THG was a 5.2
  12. It's based on the quantity of semen produced when masturbating over the film's best scene
  13. Recently watched: Tower Heist --- 4.9/10 Chronicle --- 6.7/10 City of God --- 9.8/10 (bit late on this one i know) Drive --- 9.2/10 The Ides of March --- 6.8/10 The Rum Diary --- 5.9/10 The Descendants --- 9.1/10 Midnight in Paris --- 0.2/10 Contagion --- 5.4/10 Goodbye Solo --- 8.1/10 The Hunger Games --- 8.1/10 The Station Agent --- 8.3/10 Half Nelson --- 9.3/10 Super 8 --- 6.8/10 Margin Call --- 6.4/10 How to Train your Dragon --- 9.4/10 Blue Valentine --- 7.1/10
  14. please tell me why you edited out the name on the side of the bus?
  15. You could have probably sold it a bit better than saying things like "it has been gathering dust", "i could not get on with it" and "i found it a bit fiddly", and a full picture of the bike would have been useful, but good luck anyway.
  16. I had to turn the radio off in my car the other morning because the presenter started making the "everything grinds to a halt after one flake of snow in the UK" joke. I mean ffs, this is the 3rd straight year we've had snow, all those jokes have been said over and over again and besides, it's not exactly difficult to see why countries which get a lot of snow are better than us at dealing with snow. I'd like to see Northern Australia deal with 2 degrees and drizzle. The kind of thing that we brush off as if it's nothing would actually kill people in someplace where they are prepared for it. We're not prepared for snow. Why? Because nobody is going to go to the expense of fitting snow tyres and shit when it probably won't even snow. Simple. Now pls stfu.
  17. Can never seem to get particularly excited about Christmas (not a scrooge, there's just nothing especially good about it unless you're less than 14 years old, or, i suppose, a parent of someone less than 14 years old), so in recent years I've just taken it as an opportunity to rack up lots of absurdly well paid overtime (last year banged out a 15 hour shift on Christmas day at £25.50 per hour plus a £100 bonus... good times). But this year i'm in a new job and the place shuts down so I've found myself with 12 days off and only three days worth of plans. What on earth is a man to do?? I'm just pottering around.
  18. I actually agree that weed is a gateway drug, but the link is the illegality itself, not the drug. Once someone has broken the law by taking an illegal drug such as cannabis, there is no longer any further concern about crossing a legal boundary. Legalise weed and the drug laws may regain some authority, thus preventing people moving from weed to harder drugs. Who is going to buy from some grubby street dealer when they can get it from Tesco? I don't know about you but I don't buy my alcohol from the guy down the road who makes it in his shed. The obvious difference here is that guns are designed to kill other people while drugs, even when highly dangerous, only potentially kill the user and therefore have much less effect on innocent bystanders than say, someone spraying bullets from an AK47 around a cinema. As long as people are educated then what right does the government really have to tell them what they can and can't do to themselves?
  19. Claridge is not convinced by Sven although he does concede that "he seems a decent fella." Claridge also thinks that Danns, Mills et al were last season's signings. Wtf is he on? Why is someone so totally and utterly clueless about football being paid to talk about football? Edit: jesus christ it only gets worse as well
  20. What a grim and depressing thread
