So I am now at the end of rebirth. Plan to finish it tomorrow. I only had 1 side quest left to do when I decided to go to the final area. Couldn't be bothered to try It. If I can keep my materia going into a hard mode I may just go straight into it. I just hope they make the final installment just as long, though I'm trying to think from the OG what was left from the story. I feel like they have tackled most of the story in Rebirth

I agree with everything you have said. I do hope they stick with the original story (we all know what this means) but i have a feeling they are going to change how the story plays out. Which i dont know what to make of that. But i wont pass judgement until its done. I still remember the reveal of FF7 Remake and the internet crashed big time. Ever since that moment i have wanted to play this. Im delighted with how Rebirth has turned out so far. Yuffie cracks me up

Still on Rebirth, over 50 hours in, still loving it. I wasnt expecting this game to be so long, i was expecting like a 25 hour experience, but i still have a bit to go. Even though i am playing on easy mode, and the battles are not difficult. I think it was a good decision as i am starting to see different ways to set up making me want to play through on a harder difficulty. I find if i am struggling too much with a game i tend to fall out of love with it. This way i have slowly built up my skill level. Like right now i am levelling up materia and not even using it i am just levelling up things for fun. It will make a hard play through much more enjoyable when i have the background knowledge on what i need to do. One thing i think they have done a good job with, even though each area has similar tasks to do, the layout and use of chocobo is different, which just gives it a nice mixture. So i dont feel like its a huge rinse and repeat. Cosmo Canyon was an enjoyable challenge.

God of war the only real reason to play in order is to understand the story. But you can always watch a YouTube video on the story to catch up. I highly recommend GoW3. Absolutely brilliant game. Assasins Creed is a similar thing, don't necessarily have to play the first game but it helps to know the background of the story. Again YouTube could help. Assassin's Creed Odyssey is my fave, though if you want to play an older AC game then AC2 is brilliant where you play as Ezio. Some other games I've seen mentioned above which I would also recommend Days Gone - this game is so good, really surprised me. Doesn't get the plaudits it deserves. Returnal - a brutal game but really well made and the story is interesting. Uncharted - this series I would highly recommend playing in order. All of the games are great and Uncharted 4 is one of my all time fave games. Mass Effect Trilogy - wow I can't begin to describe where this game takes you, storytelling at its absolute best. ME2 and the final mission (Suicide mission it's called) is absolutely iconic. Skyrim - you can lose many hours to this game. Great open world Far Cry 3 - a little older than the other Farcry games but FC3 is really good. Well worth a play through. Fallout 4 - another game where u can lose many hours of your life. Christ there are so many games I could list. Really comes down to what type of game you want to play. I'm pretty sure all the above games are downloadable for free if you have premium pass

43 hours into Rebirth, at Cosmo Canyon. Just exploring all the map and doing as much as i can before moving on with the story. Managed to avoid all spoilers so i have no idea how this ends (within reason of course) or how it sets up the final installment. All i know is that i am loving reliving the FF7 story and i am loving all the additional stuff to do.

Rebirth just keeps getting better and better. I don't want it to end. Tempted to go straight into another play through on Hard mode. It really makes me want to see FF8 Remake. Doubt they will do it

I got the platinum for it. From what i remember of the game i was very impressed with the graphics and the battle system. Some of the finishing moves are crisp and smooth. It took me a while to recognise the voice of the character Law. Its the guy who voices Eren Jaeger (Attack on Titan) and also Meliodas (Seven Deadly Sins) So that made really enjoy playing as Law.

The game is mostly like for like. FF7 Remake focused solely on Midgar, they extended this section of the game in the remake to bulk it out. But if you played the original you would see the resemblances, but it doesn't take 40 hours to get out of Midgar in the original. Then with Rebirth and the open world, there is a lot more to do in terms of side quests, but the general story of following the black robes, catching up to Sephiroth, Shinra, Junon, and everything after that (wont say too much) is like for like. FF7 is just a masterpiece in storytelling and likeable characters. The fact that Remake and Rebirth improve the amazing story and improve the likeable characters just makes me fall in love with Final Fantasy all over again

That's a real shame you didnt get to experience the original just for context. As if you played the original now it most likely just wouldnt hit you the same way it did me as a child. Though saying that if you dont know how the story goes then to experience this story in such a superior way that's also an absolute treat. Even so i would absolutely recommend playing the original.

Just finished the gold saucer. This is fast becoming one of the most enjoyable games I've ever played. They have absolutely nailed it I remember when FF7 remake was first announced and it broke the internet. I feared they would ruin it. But Remake was a brilliant game and Rebirth is just on a whole new level. I don't want this to end. I'm also wondering at what point in the story does Rebirth get to. I've seen some trailers which gives me an idea of where this game will finish. I just pray they get the final installment right.

So im 12 hours in. I thought i would end up flying through this game but ive only just got to Junon. I quite like the additional things you can do on the map with the ultimate goal of gaining another Summon materia. But if you cant be bothered you can just plough through the main story. So it works for all types of players, those who like to explore at do everything and those who cant be bothered and just want to get through the story. I still find myself smiling all the time whilst playing, still love it when you win a fight and Barrett sings the victory song.
