Southampton vs Leicester (A) - October 19th
Bourbon Fox replied to 420Hashish's topic in Leicester City Forum
I thought they looked pretty quick on the counter, got forward quickly, hit the woodwork twice. Having said that they haven't scored more than once in a league game so let's not cack our pants, need to get at them. -
Leicester City versus Bournemouth Post Match Analysis

I really, really want to see an attacking line of Fatawu, Mavididi, Buonanotte with support from Skipp and Vardy lurking. Those pacy, tricky, unpredictable 3 together against Saints would be chaos. -
I'm not opposed to un-counter-anti-negativity when it's warranted...

'All competitions' made me smile. Failing to score against Walsall supports what point exactly?!

Upon consideration I have decided that giving this comment a 'thumbs up' would be inappropriate and may be misconstrued as some sort of instruction -

Just watching the video. Would you describe Mads as a master baiter? Or should he hold onto his balls for a bit longer? -

One thing I do like about Cooper - he's not afraid of a fine -
Apparently you are wrong because we just recorded our first win 1-0 against Bournemouth with an xG of 0.65 vs 1.44
-
It's sad that one of the standout positives of our manager is that he selects the best keeper in the squad, and hasn't yet got us relegated. Now now. We've got a goal difference of -3. We're not hard to beat.
-
I think it's partly because letting stuff go under Rodgers shafted us. Cooper's probably getting more heat because of the relegation season and the change in style from last year. For me it's because these first few matches have served up some of the most desperately poor halves of football that I've seen in over a decade. We're not playing good football by any stretch of the imagination, and there are credible concerns about Cooper's game management and player selections.
-
So are you agreeing with the statement that Cooper is making us 'hard to beat'?
-
Like when they hit the post, and the bar, and had a goal disallowed for offside, and missed 2 sitters...
-
Sure, but I'm using the stats to refute the idea that we're hard to beat. We're outperforming the stats and yes, we are very unlikely to do this over many games. Hard-to-beat sides are organised and very hard to break down. Our stats over 630 minutes of league football show that we're neither.
-
Our xGA is the second-lowest in the league and we're outperforming it because we have been incredibly lucky, not because it's hard to carve us open. Arsenal had 36 shots and our keeper won man of the match. Bournemouth had 34 touches in our box yesterday, and 9 corners. Yesterday was our first clean sheet. We've conceded 12 goals in 7 games. You can't be serious

Yes, but this is what will happen over the course of the season if we continue to drop points against the teams immediately around us. Nothing's 'must win' until you reach a point where the crunch is coming, then things get desperate and you start to need less and less probable results to stay in touch of 'pure survival'. Bournemouth conceded 2 against Everton and lost to the hammers. They've only beaten Southampton and Everton. Points here are badly needed to make up for the 4 dropped against lower opposition. They should be bearable. Lose this and the screw turns a little tighter, and the pressure is on to pick up points against Forest and Man Utd, with and Ipswich Everton facing runs of similar difficulty over the next few weeks. -

Woah! Woah! Easy there! Next you'll be saying we could have made a change more than 90 seconds from the end of the 9 minutes stoppage time -
I thought Cooper was supposed to be a chameleon, willing to change his tactics and shape to the opposition? No sign so far
-
We are perfect for a Red Bull school manager - the players responded well to the style last season
-
I wasn't. I said the same as when Cooper was appointed - interesting, surprising, but let's wait and see. Then he won 4 and drew 2 of his opening 6 prem matches including a draw against Spurs.
