  1. Didn't try hard enough?? Rodgers didn't want strong characters capable of challenging him, he was actively binned off.
  2. Ah got you. It's hard not to see that being the outcome if he's offered it, and he can point to all the things his mate Guillem's been laying out as the reason. Which would be a big kick in the bollocks for the squad, morale-wise.
  3. I don't think it's that, I think it's more the fact that the board didn't seem to tell him the full picture about our finances. Which isn't a surprising notion, given that it's exactly what they did to Rodgers. It's got to be frustrating to spend time and effort planning for a scenario, only to have the rug pulled.
  4. He can play, he is hard to beat, he can pick a long pass. I'm not saying he's Franco Baresi, and I'm happy to take Enzo's assessment if he doesn't think he's good enough.
  5. He joined a dressing room that had fully gone to shit, a manager that had thrown them under the bus and lost his head, and didn't play enough. He's scored 5 goals for Australia this season, he's hard to beat, he can pick a long pass and break up an attack. We just haven't seen him do any of it so no idea if he's capable in the prem. Got to trust Enzo on it I think.
  6. This is a load of aurora boreaollocks. No chance.
  7. The second-hand embarrassment was so strong. You've done nothing yet ffs
  8. As much as I didn't like the Ballague interview, I liked the sentiment. If we're a serious club we need to be serious in every area.
  9. Needs someone quick next to him, if it's him and Wout in the middle next season there'll be butchery
  10. They staked the ranch on him for no good reason. I remember thinking it was highly surprising at the time.
  11. If they had done some sort of supporter's lottery or invitation system to get a couple of dozen supporters involved, I guarantee there would be as much moaning about how it wasn't fair or wasn't enough or the wrong people were there...
  12. Every single one of them looked more happy to be there than Dennis Praet. Every club has its prawn sandwich brigade. Top's spent hundreds of millions on the club, if he wants to pay for some buses full of entourage then that's his choice. If I bought a football club as a toy then I'd definitely make sure I used it to sort my mates out and impress people every now and then. This is hardly the thing that makes me realise modern football isn't about the fans.
  13. This performance will have absolutely no bearing on next season. You have to celebrate your wins, or you end up sounding like a bit of a plank.
  14. Brilliant isn't it
  15. Just give them the clapper budget ffs
  16. Absolutely amazing work
  17. It's a continuation of what Guillaume said on the WYS podcast. Essentially hinting that Enzo's not happy with the structure and quality of the off-the-field staff, that if it doesn't change we will be a yo-yo club and Enzo will not stick around for that
  18. Bit late for that, he was hobbling off bleeding after the celebrations
  19. Hats off to those in the away end tonight - looked and sounded fantastic, did them proud
  20. 8 goals in 26 appearances, the season he broke into the first team proper and a nasty injury
  21. When you're smiling playing on the PA - cheers Preston, quality
  22. I've heard Top's going to give them all a Kia Cee'd as a bonus for winning the Championship
  23. Yeah it looked weird in real time, I even thought it had come up off the defender but from the reverse angle it was a clean hit
  24. Looks rusty. I'll be charitable and say it's because he's not played rather than because he's wank. I really liked the look of him earlier in the season, he was a credible part of a really exciting rotation with Mav and Abdul
