Problem is, we're in League One and we are in very deep poo if we don't get out. Pearson is different in a couple of ways - one, when he was in charge in this division we went on a 23-game unbeaten run. Two, when we stalled in the Championship he rang the changes. Martin is showing no signs of doing either.

We're averaging 15.5 shots per game this season, great. But our xG is 1.46 - and that doesn't account for the player on the end of it. Our xGA is 1.45 - so here we are on -2 goals, perfectly mid table. As you say, the chances we're creating aren't good chances.

I think it’s important to distinguish between the terminology we use and the underlying technology itself. Whether we call it a “supercomputer”, “AI”, or simply a sophisticated predictive model, the key point is that data-driven forecasting can provide useful insights into potential outcomes. That said, football is inherently unpredictable. Models can analyse historical performance, fixtures, squad strength and a whole host of other variables, but ultimately the games still have to be played on the pitch. That’s what makes football so compelling. ⚽ From a Leicester perspective, I think the focus should be on what we can control: consistency, momentum, performances and taking things one game at a time. If we do that, the league table will take care of itself. And as for the prediction of 22 wins from 39 games… perhaps we shouldn’t get too carried away with the numbers. 😉 In summary: trust the process, embrace the uncertainty, and remember that football is a marathon, not a sprint. Just my two cents! 👍

The biggest difference for me is outside the ground. I used to go a lot when I was younger and it was singing all the way down Eastern Boulevard, Raw Dykes Road, Burnmoor Street - different pockets of fans starting on the side streets and joining up towards the ground. There'd be hundreds singing, people knew the words, making noise. It was around the time of the move to the new stadium that I started to notice more old people and families - but not 'our' type of families - who'd be giving looks and not getting involved. Previously wearing a visible scarf or shirt wasn't something you'd do until there was safety in numbers, suddenly there were people wandering about decked out in club gear not singing and acting like we were a problem. Then I didn't go for a decade or so, I worked Saturdays and couldn't get to Leicester. I came back and it was so different. NOBODY was singing. The walk to the ground feels surreal now, it's actually silent a lot of the time. I feel like if I started singing one of the old songs I'd be on my own and looked at like a lunatic. Don't get me wrong I don't miss the fights and the aggro, or being at risk of trampling by a police horse but trading songs with the away fans and the general culture of it was a massive part of what made me fall in love with the game and it's just gone.

No question. Think of the increased revenues earned during this period of cheating, and how that increased revenue allowed Man City to fund their playing squad in the following seasons. We missed out on CL revenue twice by a points margin that could have been wiped out by draws or wins against a legally-assembled but slightly less brilliant Man City team. I do think though that this is such a massive can of worms that there is no way they will open up the possibility of clubs suing Man City. It would be chaos.
