Not sure if it's the lack of crowd or simply the teams I've seen (Ceballas the exception), but there seems to be a lot less of the theatrics so far.

The actual gameplay/mechanics is basic and nothing to write home about so I see some people's point even if they're, typically, extremist Internet forum views. Having said that, I've been playing it for 9 hours straight with no intention to stop. It's a bloody good game. I do however understand why some people don't like. If you're after escapism for gaming, this certainly isn't it!

I applaud. Today I did intent to play a certain PS game that was just released but I'm dug in on Monster Train, great fun.

Looks decent. Also for those eyeing a new console this year, you get a "free" upgrade with the exception of those going from disc to disc less. "As you'd expect, the physical copy of FIFA 21 on PS4 also includes your entitlement to download and play the PS5 version of the game (and Xbox One with Xbox Series X), so you still can upgrade for free if you buy a next-gen console with a disc drive. I'm a cynic so I'll go 599. The BBC article where the CEO was pitching value and not cost was suspicious. Also being a PC man at heart I look at the kit going into them and that's still a "cheap" rig for the performance they're claiming. For the sake of my wallet I hope I'm wrong!

Eh? What I referred to with polarising in this sense doesn't mean a good or bad game but the overall "gaming experience" and how this won't be for everyone. Unanimously well recieved as an exceptional story telling experience, but every review seems to touch upon it being borderline unpleasant in places and gameplay being pretty dry. Looking forward to playing it without concerning myself over the thoughts of the twittersphere.

Console looks like my Virgin Media router. Curious to see that laying on its side. But actually seeing gameplay was great and Ratchet and Clank in particular looks brilliant. The game I most want is the Demon's Souls game because I'm sick, but it all looked good. Good to see the staring contest between xbox and PS on pricing continues!

I got it as I subscribe to origin access. They've done a really good job on this. They also released the source code for the game so some of the mods for this will be fantastic. The gameplay does shows its age (hunting a line soldier is annoying) but it's a pleasently well done version. Also the multiplayer works well. I used to have to use a C&C net mod which was a faff! Not sure I'd stump up 18 quid, but if you've got fond memories of this give it a go.
