Understatement of the evening, but that was rather frustrating. You can pick at their first goal with JJ getting beat and Ben not covering Richardson but feel that's unfair as it was a steady work by them. The kind of work we used to do but have long since forgotten. Penalty was a bit soft, but it's a flighted ball that hits his hand. Harsh, and we rightly moan when we don't get them, but I didn't have any complaints. Where I do have complaints is our entire performance. I've read a few posts saying "we dominated". Dominated what exactly? Quantify of pointless balls in the box, balls out wide to full backs who look generally lost in the final third? This is the 4th game back and we've got two goals. One an absolutely peach and one a complete fluke. There's the cliche about as long as you're creating chance you'll be fine and we're creating naff all. Our build up play is agonisingly slow and let's any competent defence reorganise and not let us play through leading a pointless hoof ball to nobody in the box. We need to put sentimentally aside and be honest. Vardy is either not playing well, or we're playing a style that's not suiting him. Let's be kind and call it the latter. Either way, he needs removing as we were miles better with Kel on. I don't want to pick on individuals, but I look at our play and don't have a clue what we're trying. If Brendan is trying to be Pep, he needs to have more than one individual making forward runs otherwise it's standard tosh. It's definitely not "Brendan out", but he needs to identify that a lot of the problems are at his door and sort it. Decide on your best 11 and how you want to play and execute it. Too many random players chucked on and switched.

Played really well and with the huge volume of chances we've created since the restart, I've no doubt we'll turn this around. Praet for Hamza in the 85th minute should do it. I'd also leave Kel on the bench if we need a goal (s). Good half.

10 second swap at the back of throat which caused numerous bouts of gagging (puts paid to any exotic career) followed by 10 seconds up the nose which caused several sneezing fits. Don't take this test on a curiosity!

Had a test today at the Birstall Park and ride. Whilst a thoroughly unpleasant experience, it's very well organised and tests available immediately.

I'd like to think PHE are comparing number of tests undertaken against positive results. Not sure they're that daft to just look at net results. Not buying the cause is due to greater testing one bit.

Where you do you even behind with this. I don't think I've seen a team come back from the restart as poorly as we have. Remember after the Watford game they were saying "we were the fitter team". Might be the case you're all fit, but you look like a team of strangers. Tactics wise, I don't even know what we are anymore. Mentioned here already but we've got Vards on the shoulder and nobody playing him early. Use him correctly or change his style as he's not adding anything like this. Further with this, he's so isolated due to having Wilf (plays deep) and two wide men so he has nobody in the middle to properly support. We looked our best with Youri and Praet who could fill that space and at least keep the game flowing. Individually, nobody has exactly shone in that game. Barnes for the goal we conceded is something you can't coach, that's just being daft. We had the chances when Chelsea messed about by playing their young players. Frank saw Gilmoure and Mount were ineffective and brought them off. Brendan meanwhile saw Praet being effective and brought him off. It's not some tactical masterclass, it's just keeping things that are working going and swapping out stuff that's not. How we didn't bring Nacho on at the end in a cup game when we need a goal is just stupid. This is classic over thinking. Special note to the attitude of some players on the way off. Don't Fuching smile when you've been dumped out the quarters of the cup please. Being kind, we have eyes on top four and we wanted to rest players (albeit ones who rarely start for Everton). I was worried about the two league interviews when Brendan said how good we were (better team etc). He's either deflecting or is deluded. I hope it's the former. Hopefully this provides some focus and we don't just stroll around against Everton.

Dreadful. I hope Brendan doesn't come out with the "we were the dominant team" pish that we got after Watford as I'd start to worry about his perception of reality. We're so dependent on player hot streaks Vardy had a run and we got the results and similar with Barnes before the break. When the team are all playing OK we're not threatening in the slightest.

Historically the first FIFA games for each next-gen games have been pretty limp so combined with the issues surrounding developing during COVID, I won't expect a return to form.

I'll wait until I've finished the game before putting my proper thoughts here. But I'm sat here working from home and dwelling on playing this through my lunch. Whatever people think of this, it's certainly got me hooked!
