There was two beliefs I had when we first appointed Cooper that made me at least slightly happy with him That he would be good for our youth, and that he would be a pragmatic manager with our setups and in game management Now I am left wondering where those two beliefs even came from His willingness to choose players like Soumare on the bench seemingly now over someone like McAteer shows to me he doesn’t particularly care about our academy players - McAteer may not be the best player but he will at least press and put a shift in He also just isn’t a pragmatic manager at all. He doesn’t tweak his teams to play in even a slightly different way depending on the opposition, and his in game management is usually way too late in games to be able to give us a chance to compete (if he even changes how we are playing at all) For me he needs to go because I don’t think we will see him suddenly start learning how to manage in games or how to react to opposition managers changing their tactics - which is also one of the main reasons I think we will never see more than 45 minutes of decent football from us with him in charge

I thought he looked decent for us in the middle with that partnership with Winks in the first half He did struggle against Hudson-Odoi though and then the Forest tactical change in the 2nd half meant neither him or Winks could really do any of that good interplay again

I honestly think the only way he gets dropped or even subbed off with Cooper still here is if he gets injured or sent off

For me it is mainly Facundo that is at fault for the first goal rather than JJ or Ricardo He had plenty of time and space to smash the ball clear and end that period of play and pressure

Hopefully he still wants a move back to Spain by the time January comes around Unsurprisingly the whole ground was groaning again when they saw it was him coming on

I can only assume you have zero idea what words like squad management or match fitness mean or how either of them work or why they are important

He was let down by the players mistakes in the 2nd half However he also still didn’t really react at all until too late again to Nuno changing their tactics at half time to stop us playing through the middle and it made us so blunt when going forward I don’t think we will ever get to see a complete 90 minute performance from us with Cooper in charge because his in game management the vast majority of the time is shocking or just non-existent

He either has a 50p head or shuts his eyes when trying to head a ball Couldn’t head the ball in the direction he wants to save his life

He is way too risky of a player to have as a team fighting relegation with a struggling defence Always reliable for a good amount of brain farts across the season

1st half was decent and 1-1 was a fair score at half time - although you could see we were struggling to contain their wingers 2nd half even without the mistakes and goals was dreadful, not a single decent chance created To me it looked like they dropped a bit deeper and packed out the midfield more meaning we couldn’t go through Winks or Ricardo, and once we finally got it out to the wingers they were doubled on so they either lost it trying to take a defender on or went backwards Forest were able to simply soak up the “pressure” and pounce on a mistake or win the ball and break quickly on the counter down the wingers into the space (exactly the kind of tactics that caused us issues last season) Players need a bollocking for the mistakes and Cooper still needs to learn to react quicker when it isn’t working
