  1. What he’s a bit of a shandy boy?!
  2. I reckon the club may have thought if the Sensi deal is a priority then Casadei was fair game and sent him back?
  3. No great loss. He’s had about 2 good games as far as I’m concerned. Are Chelsea recalling him because they think it’s not working out, or will they actually use him? I can’t see the latter as he’s got a lot to learn even at Championship level
  4. Exactly. One of the motivations for FFP was to stop another Portsmouth or in this case Forest. Big points deduction please.
  5. Should we have a whip-round and get this for Ric?
  6. It’s my interpretation of reading the meaning behind the lines. I’m inferring, but I don’t think it’s an outrageous inference. His words are loaded.
  7. Has anyone reflected on the comments made by Richard (Dick) Masters? His effectively says we preferred Leicester City were relegated than Everton. He refers to Everton as an important member of the PL because they’re an ever present. Also Everton appealed and got their hearing moved to this season, as it was proposed to take place last season. As if you should be able to move a hearing? Of course if you are down the bottom you want to kick it further down the line, and has huge implications for other more law abiding clubs. You have to question the whole culture and attitude of the Premier League. Everton fans call it corrupt, but really if they were going to be punished they managed to steer it to being dished out at the best moment possible.
  8. Yea it’s ridiculous. I bet he’s a shit at delegating as well.
  9. We also have a lot of players that have **** all and have minimal resale value. Take Praet as an example. Our problem is also that one wants our players. Some of the players listed in this thread from other clubs are young, have potential and significant resale value. A lot of ours don’t. We ditched the model of buying potential, and I’ve read that Rodgers was driving that as he thought it would bring more immediate success. And look what happened.
  10. He’s too busy buying horse feed for KPs fleet of stallions.
  11. Excellent post
  12. I can’t believe I’m defending Peter Taylor in any sense, but at least he tried - just wasn’t good enough. If you’re right, and I suspect you might well be, and Rodgers checked out surely that is absolutely despicable and far worse.
  13. Forest do look increasingly reckless, and surely require at least the same as Everton. I think financial irregularity on that scale in such a short time frame deserves more personally. As a comparison, look at Luton, Burnley and Sheff U. I’m sure their seasons would be panning out very differently if they’d have gone gung ho like Forest.
  14. Yes he got a very good tune out of us for 2.5 years or so. Arguably all the more reason to make him worse than Taylor given the decline was even worse. But I take your point. Just as we’ve had ex pros talk about Peter Taylor in recent years, I can’t wait for the likes of Vardy, Morgan, Albrighton etc to spill the beans on Rodgers.
  15. This is a good debate. I think it has to be Rodgers as he oversaw a much bigger decline than a side who were comfortably top half. We were comfortably top 4-6!
  16. What’s ridiculous about that is that Benteke did terribly at Liverpool. I wonder how many games Firmino was sacrificed out wide and at full back to accommodate a total dud. Rodgers, stubborn? Nah…
  17. I demand a stewards enquiry as Kevin Pressman’s Nan was from Equatorial Guinea!
  18. If we’re honest with ourselves, would we have been able to rebuild to this extent in the PL? Look at the dead wood that is still at the club, who at the very least some have been able to contribute meaningfully this season. We may well look back in 5 years time and think relegation needed to happen, as odd as that sounds. In contrast, if Everton and Forest go down they might stay down for a while and struggle to adjust. Forest have gone on a mad sugar rush, and they’ll have the rug pulled from under them. It’s been rotten at Everton for a while, and Dyche may well be doing a decent job papering over the cracks but they will drop eventually and presumably that new stadium will hamper their finances even further.
  19. Yea but crucially when we do it… meh. The whole footballing world outside of Everton more or less wants them to go down. Let an example be made of them I say. And Forest are just a joke and clearly being run by someone who doesn’t know the rules or the difference between his fat arse and his elbow.
  20. They’ve been throwing money around willy nilly for years before that though, and maybe that’s caught up with them? Bought some right dross as well. Must have pretty mediocre income streams as well as Goodison isn’t all that, and kind of ironic but hugely pleasing that their pursuit of the big time and building a new stadium is a factor in them hopefully going down for being deducted points.
  21. Not football related, but have always struggled to understand why some from Nottingham support Leicester Tigers. I know a few. Perhaps rugby is less tribal, but I’ve still always found it odd.
  22. How dare you talk sense on here!
  23. I wonder whether they still make the most marvellous goulash?
  24. Under Rodgers it was desire and bottle. We just got punished today by sitting dee after a stupid red card. This side have desire and bottle in droves, though it took a dent today. I expected us to hold out. But write it off, and go again!
