  1. If Roma and the players agent have an agreement then they just wait for us to move on and then juve are stuck with a deal they don’t want to do gonna be a kick in the teeth for us if the kid ends up at West Ham!
  2. Hilarious - you simply couldn’t write this stuff!
  3. Only till october so he had 18 months notice pay guaranteed makes sense that he was willing to join us then. he would have done a deal with them to split the balance of the notice pay differential so would only have missed out on a several hundred grand.
  4. sadly the poster was actually 'TRAM-PEDE'
  5. Looks like he very much wants to stay darn sarf
  6. I think he would be a very decent player if fully motivated in a well managed team
  7. It’s not a zero sum game if they get in 25m then that funds purchases of 125m this financial year. the difference between 25m and 30m is not the be all and end all when it comes to budgeting for these size clubs they asked for 40m but they knew they wouldn’t get that they probably figured all along that they would take 30m. It looks like that amount will now have to include add ons
  8. There’s an argument that if you’d acted faster then they’d have puked all over you ! perhaps if target A isn’t available then second best isn’t worth it ??
  9. I’ll get back to you …..
  10. By the time I did that they’d puked their way down the stairs and I was left to stumble home alone ….
  11. I wonder if a lot of the groundwork for this deal was done when we had an Italian coach ? Otherwise the whole thing makes little sense for a player who fundamentally wants to stay in Italy
  12. That would sum us up!
  13. I’d worry that he may well not settle here given that he clearly wants to stay in Italy
  14. Well juve wanted more than that but as mused for a while, juve have identified the player will be sold to finance purchases and the player has some strength here. If he’s dug his heels in on Roma and only Roma then juve probably have to settle on a figure they’ll actually get and do the deal
  15. You’re right that we must learn from history by standing up to putin we’ve done our job (but oh why we were so weak in the run up to the invasion with shocking messaging is a big question that no one seems to want to ask) Eventually you do need to negotiate a settlement and it seems pretty clear that putin needs something to sell back home as not being a defeat. (Even though it clearly would be) I’d expect a trump presidency to navigate their way through this because they want it to disappear. I can’t see Europe maintaining the war without America in the driving seat.
  16. what about forest fans ?
  17. And you definitely have to live there to apply ??? asking for a friend
  18. The players agent won’t close doors in case he does have to come here. He’ll keep options on the table. I think the kid would come here if we were the best available gig to him. But for now he prefers rome. From our perspective we’ve probably made a judgement that Roma won’t pay the fee not get close to the wages we’d offer
  19. And we have St Peter’s Catholic Church on Hinckley road I think there’s also one on piazza san pietro in rome but I doubt it’s as impressive ……
  20. it seems rhat the player is v keen to go to Roma but appreciates that if we pay a fair bit more then he may have to come here So he isn’t going to come out and say that he has his heart set on Roma and doesn’t fancy the East Midlands (in case he ends up here) given that players usually call the tune when push comes to shove you’d expect him to end up staying in Italy.
  21. He’s clearly had advice to appear to be presidential rather than populist when he’s likely to be seen by swing voters What’s amazing is that for now, he seems to be taking the advice
  22. But only five years as a coach of a senior team (bilbao and alaves) Carsley is 50 y o - he’s hardly ‘wet behind the ears’ I understand your point but I think it’s a brave call we could make and I think it could well work
  23. If they do then hopefully it goes the way of the fella that chose Villa in 2015
  24. The Spanish took a risk with their U21 coach ….. and I think he has the bottle to tell some of the big time Charlies that it’s time to move on. Southgate also did that but then ended up too close to some of them over the past few years.
  25. Promote carsley He knows plenty of the players and offers continuity he’s won a tournament too - he found tactical solutions to problems when he did
