The bottom third of the table could end up like that -
Premier League 24/25 Pre-season guff (misc talking points)

We know from watching our games last season how defensively scary maresca ball can be. Against better quality strikers we would have failed to win a lot of games. So it shouldn’t be a surprise to see Chelsea conceding plenty of goals. He found a group of players here desperate for a new broom and very receptive to new ideas. Whilst Chelsea undoubtedly have better technical players than us and should be able to put play full on enzoball, it needs them to buy in 100% mentally. That’s his biggest task. If they don’t respect him enough or want to put in the effort required then he will fail. Remember even pep had a few issues at Man City in his first season. -
Btw, will be a triumph of American diplomacy if we get to next weekend without a full scale war having broken out between Hezbollah and Israel after yesterday’s events

Couple of things about the video i was under the impression that the office who came in and kicked the fella was back up called in after the other officers were attacked. That he basically stormed into the area and his first action was to kick the guy prone on the floor. Apparently this video shows him to be involved in the entire fight. He is therefore in a state of extreme stress having been violently attacked with his colleagues - if he’s knocked out then his gun is at risk. so his action would be more understandable BUT the fella is tasered and prone on the floor - he has to take account of that. He’s an armed officer. Hence he should be trained to deal with this type of high stress situation - imagine if he had his gun drawn ? Then he would be deciding whether to shoot this person - I’m not convinced that if he that were the case then this guy would more than likely have been shot dead whilst in a prone position on the floor. the video does ensure that two of these arseholes will be spending a few years behind bars - so at least some good will come out of this.

Yes, as far as 24/25 is concerned, laying out an additional 2m agent fee means we can afford 10m less on a transfer fee in.
-
Compare and contrast with Tuesday evening’s post match interview Tues evening : sounded like deals being sorted out Fri evening: if we don’t get deals over the line then I won’t complain and we’ll just get on with it
-
Ah - misunderstood the word ‘aid’. I thought you meant gifted rather than export sales. I'm no fan of BN - when were these medical experiments ?
-
Yep - misread the stats !
-
And it occurs to me that agents fees can’t be amortised so if the agent wanted £3 to get the deal done and that’s 2m more than we’re prepared to pay - we’d lose 10m on our transfer budget this season to get the player. I suppose we could load the fee to juve if they’re prepared to pay all the agents fee but then they lose 2m from their income in this example.

You recognise this many people don’t subscribe to this viewpoint until the ICJ delivers its verdict, we don’t actually know if the Israeli defence of acting within international law has been denied. (And the Israelis will argue that the court is biased if it is.). What we don’t know is how much military evidence Israel Is able to provide without compromising itself. by the way - how much funding do we give the Israeli govt ???

Does anyone ever ask why Hamas fighters are staying in (and sometimes fighting from) UNWRA schools ? (And how many of the 30 killed - if we accept that number - are Hamas fighters)? It was inevitable from the 8 October that Israel would not care much for taking the maximum number of civilian casualties allowed under international law to take out a single Hamas fighter. It seems likely that they will argue that secondary explosions from Hamas weaponry on site (which has often been the cause of many additional civilian deaths) is not their responsibility. I think this argument will form the crux of their defence at the ICJ. I think that argument will be dismissed.

Bet that’s peed off juve aswell (unless they’re on a kick back - they have form )

That reveals the politics of UK FCP more than it does anything else - can we post anything we like on here without any kind of check on its veracity?? No one is a war criminal as yet as no warrants have even been issued - against Israelis or Palestinians. There has been a request to the court by ICJ prosecutors asking that warrants be issued. At this time I’ve no idea how long that case will take to be heard. The submission by the U.K. has been withdrawn. There are submissions from other countries being considered in addition to the legalities of the requests. So if sinwar rocked up at Gatwick then he’d be allowed to go about his business (unless there is an existing warrant for him relating to Hamas being a prescribed terror org).

He doesn’t need any comp what we ended up paying him over nearly five years means that the Rodgers family doesn’t really need to work for several generations ….

You’ve heard it’s off ??

Plan is to make the PL commission take pity on us and only apply a three point deduction

Tbf, I can think of situations where I would have been fairly relaxed about the person being booted in the head …… If this guy had stabbed someone then I would also be less judgemental. There is always context.
-
I think you are charged and then tried before being possibly jailed if the jury agree you’re guilty and the judge believes a prison sentence is applicable ! btw, I’m not vexed with pepper spray if an officer believes it’s necessary to protect themselves and the public. they have to justify that to their superiors afterwards.

Let’s not forget that when we sold chilwell, it was thought in the academy that Thomas would be a more than capable replacement. Chilwell had a tough year when he first came into the mix but he really went for it in the summer and made himself an absolute animal re his fitness. That helps hide a lot of issues. Thomas never kicked on. My view is that fitness is something that all players can improve and the desire comes from within.

I It’s apparently after the kicking incident (so must be after the violence towards his colleagues) I can’t see how it matters - no officer should, be doing what he did when a suspect is prone on the ground with his hands by his side That’s his job - he’s trained to deal with situations like this (even moreso in his case as an armed officer).
-
There’s a video on sky where they claim this officer is shown pepper spraying another noisy (maybe construed as aggressive) person after the kicking incident. He has colleagues around him who don’t resort to the pepper spray. Not sure this guy seem to be the type who should be carrying a gun ?
-
So did the wpc break her own nose or was that a ‘story’ - I wonder if the guy currently in hospital will be charged when he’s well enough

Awful at wolves ?
