I don't know what I find more depressing - 'limbs' or people boasting/implying that they're superior fans because they DIDN'T stick around to give NP, AK and MJ the recognition they are so worthy of.

He posted very sensibly in the Forum Support section, and I'm guessing his reaction later is associated with not getting the response to it he wanted. As I said, I worry about the mental well being of some, and TPH and I have messaged before, where I had to work pretty hard to get through whatever it was that was clearly affecting him externally at the time. There's no excuse for it, but we are all capable of alienating others when we actually are in dire need of support - self-sabotage is something I am familiar with.

Oh I quite agree. I just think there's a more direct, blunt term that already exists for it, which bothers some people because it's a little too close to the truth than they care to admit.

A euphemism for the ages, right there.

Also, I seem to think that there is the NHS that serves patients, and then there is another body/ies called the NHS Trust, which uses the logo and everyone assumes is the same thing, but in actual fact that is the body/ies where all the people who are slowly destroying the NHS are operating, splitting everything up and building layers of management to create degrees of separation from the origin of the rot and the outcome, which is seen at the patient-facing end. Goodness knows what other offshoots there may be that use the NHS logo but are doing nothing but harm.

Occasionally, when I remember that everyone here is human, I allow myself to be seriously concerned for the mental well-being of a few members.

Thank you @urban.spaceman, @Wymsey, @SeCrEt FoX @ajthefox.... very thoughtful of you all. I'm as mentally well prepared for a big play as I ever have been. I've learnt a lot about managing nerves, adrenaline and not cramming at the last minute since 2019. Lots of lovely friends and family will be there tomorrow - it's a 30 year ambition finally to be realised. For those that are interested, I'm the soloist in the 1st Cello Concerto by Shostakovich, and I have an interesting link to the composer. You'll find many great renditions on YouTube - worth checking out Rostropovitch playing it, for whom it was written. Anyone wanting to come can pm me for details.

I'm not in the 'Nigel is God' squad - however, it would be churlish beyond belief to not acknowledge the massive contribution he made to the club, and very one-eyed indeed not to see that 15/16 would have NEVER happened without all the work he did. Likewise, Andy King and Matty James always gave their all and I've never heard a bad word about either of them. So of course, I'd like us to batter them, and I wish I could be there (I have a rather pressing engagement of my own on Saturday), but I think any positive sentiment aimed towards these former employees is absolutely merited, and would show our fans in a much better light than any irrational negativity because NP might have ruffled feathers and caused (shock horror) offence to the sort of people who so love to be offended by the slightest thing.
