Surely this has to be Ruud sacrificing the game to make a point that he needs more signings. No way he thinks, JJ. Ward, Ayew, Hamza, Coady, Reid and a 38 year old Vardy is a starting line up. Subbing Bilal but keeping Ayew on made no sense. Soumare suddenly stopped being able to pass doesn’t help.

Sometimes I wonder what goes on in Soumares brain, he was jogging back, Wolves player stops and he runs away from him and stops and stares.

Does Mav know that he is allowed to pass to VK? Maybe 5 more step overs before he kicks it against the defenders legs and loses it.

Ward, Justin and Ayew have offered zero to this game. Between them the whole pitch is stunk out.

Yet Soumare just got a yellow for a similar but less dangerous foul

It doesn’t help that they keep passing it backwards slowly, inviting the press then giving it to Ward.

He’s breaking down barriers, showing that even people from minority backgrounds can be racist, sexist, drink drive, ok on a good day at your job and still keep it.

Kasey needs to start switching his brain on rather than flapping and slowing down play. Excited to see how VK, Winks, Bilal and Mav can start to link attacks together

Kasey and Ayew stunk out the first half. Ndidi looks to pass backwards putting pressure on the defence rather than be progressive when he has a chance. Vardy has such incredible workrate, instinct and ability. Reid did well and Mav got into the game. Hopefully we can have a run of Vardy, Bilal, Fac and Mav. It would be nice to see VK and Mav develop some sort of connection. Mav seems to never want to pass to him but his runs create space for Mav to cut back in. I would love to see our midfield press and stop attacks more often. Winks can’t come back soon enough. Soumare is such a weird player. He can’t close down a player 2 metres away yet he’ll run full speed beating 4 players on 95 mins. The same with his passing, many loose short passes where he didn’t look who he was passing to, yet passed out some long balls nicely to get attacks going.

It’s frustrating to see Brighton close down Kasey every time yet Justin gives them all the time to get a cross in.

He is only good when reacting close to goal. He cant beat a man or thinks to run into space. Slows down play to work out what to do.

Brighton can press all over the pitch, it would be nice if our two destroyers could even attempt it.

Can’t seem to do the only thing people say he brings to the team.

I’ve watched every game including pre season. He can be our best player, which isn’t saying much and be terrible at pressing, stopping attacks in midfield and watching players walk into our box and cross. Him and Ndidi are terrible together in midfield. One can’t tackle or press and the other can’t pass in a counter attack. They would work better the other way round. Out attacked starting more productively when bypassing JJ and Ndidi.

Brighton will certainly get chances and take them more often than West Ham. The defence are going to get a battering if we have the Soumare and Ndidi as the midfield destroyers. Hamza is a bomb scare but he will at least press and tackle, unlike Soumare who watches players run by allows them to take a cross or shot before he reacts. Just have to keep Hamza away from the penalty area.
