And play them in their strongest positions.
-
They will score again from the space that JJ leaves. Every single game is the same. Useless manager and assistants if they can’t identify a problem and trend.
-
Push the whole team to the left hand side and leave the right open. For the first goal JJ sees the space and the player but stays marking no one and watches the ball played and still doesn’t react until it’s too late.
-
He struggling to do the basics with no pressure let alone being expected to create.
-
He’s not even attempting to tackle now.
-
Yet most of the time Justin is so far across in a cb position leaving so much space.
-
Nice defending and press from Justin.
-
Boring but not incorrect.
-
Maybe people (me) are moaning as they are players that would better serve us starting the game and have seen enough of a trend from Cooper for not making the obvious choice early enough to make an impact and change the game. Any subs are too late, usually a singular sub rather than wholesale changes. Fatawu will come on late at the expense of Mavadidi rather than to compliment and aid. There is no way he will bring Ricardo and Winks on. He’ll keep Ndidi on all game and take Skipp off for Soumare.
-
If he brings on Coady, Reid, Soumare, Ayew & Edouard then he needs investigating.

Still can’t play a RW on the RW and shoehorning two attacking mids into the team. I hope Bilal doesn’t struggle otherwise he sub Ayew on quick. -

Less attacking seems to equal being more defensive by Coopers tactics. If Ndidi and Ayew play, it will be all game even though they will be battered by 60 mins. By the second half the opposition can just walk into our half with no pressure. I expect the usual sitting back and waiting to mop up wave after wave of attack. Watch JJ give away fouls in dangerous areas as he tries to last ditch defend the area he has left wide open. Soton will change 3 subs at once to add energy. Copper will stand around like he’s about to bob his pants and can’t decide what to do next. 78 mins for the first sub and 85 for the usual Mav and Fatawu change. -

Coopers tactic is you can’t get hit on the counter attack if you don’t attack. 😂 -

I’ve come to the conclusion that he isn’t actually stubborn. Cooper is working to the best of his footballing ability and tactical knowledge. He just isn’t very good at his job. Playing Ayew against an aging out of position Ashley Young and not trying to take him on let alone overload that area sums up Cooper as a tactician. He has stalled Riccy’s career and stunted Fatawu’s growth and experience which will depreciate him as an asset if we go down, which I believe we will. -

The days of hoping the manager plays the strongest line up in their strongest positions is a thing of the past. -

Press and pace is something that Cooper actively sets out to avoid, he’s too stubborn to change as well. Complete stink out. The main tactic will be Ayew falling over on the half way line instead of moving forward or passing. Mads will punt the ball into the box for Soton to clear every time. Their left winger will have all day to cross the ball as JJ is playing in the middle. -
Apathy. I hope you’re not a teacher with that grading. The stats and watching the games match up, he is doing a poor job with half decent resources. That poor job is the best of his ability and he has shown he won’t change because he doesn’t know how to. The owners are the ones now letting the rot continue.

Cooper sets it up so they are sitting back, the opposition walks through the midfield with ease. It’s like his idea of defending is just mopping up wave after wave of attacks rather than attempting to stop it earlier. Every game he keeps Ndidi on for too long. After 60 mins he is always shattered and ambles around watching players run by. It’s too obvious and it will never happen but if we had Facoundo Mavadidi and Fatawu on it would stretch the defenders rather than Mavadidi being doubled up on. -

It will be the same team, same poor tactics leading to the same mistakes, no in game management and late subs. JJ so far out of position then watching the winger cross the ball in all afternoon. DMs camped on the edge of our box with a nonexistent midfield and zero press or attempt to defend from the front. Cooper setting up to be less attacking doesn’t make it more defensive by default. Ayew to fall over and disrupt any counter we have on. The goal will come from a single moment of excellence or passage of play that doesn’t include him. Post match waffle and excuses. -

Proven he’s crap. Cannon needs a chance to prove he’s not as crap. -
He isn’t even setting us up to counter attack, his insistence of Ayew who falls over when he gets the ball puts an end to that idea. It’s all down to him being not very good at his job, whether it’s confidence, ability or intelligence, I think it’s a mix of all 3. He does have the players, he is the one choosing to not play them. It feels like the team is having to battle his player and tactic choices as well as the opposition. People keep using the word pragmatic to describe him but he is anything but, it seems the word has changed its meaning. To me he is hardly inspiring on and off the pitch.

While I don’t dispute him making tackles, I was on about after 60 mins when he’s on a yellow. He gives up even attempting to press. -

But it’s our momentum that he stops not the opposition. So not much help when trying to attack. -

3 points which is great but it was a goal from a moment of brilliance rather than design by a manager. Turgid football in the second half set up to at least get a draw. You could see Vardy and even Faes waving players to move up the pitch yet the didn’t even bust into a jog. Poor subs again 15 minutes after Bournemouth made theirs, they made no difference anyway. Ayew nullifies attacks that would flow if Fac was in the middle. Ndidi was useless after 60 mins as usual, watching players jog by him and afraid to tackle. Okoli played better as the game progressed, hopefully will learn as he goes on. Mavadidi tried to do too much as the support isn’t great around him, Ayew kept dropping near him but no one filled the space he left. -

What is the important job that Ayew is doing? Killing momentum when we get the ball by shithousing a free kick which we then just punt in the box but Bournemouth got their head to every one and started to counter? This seems like Coopers main tactic, so in that sense he doing the job Cooper wants.
