Even then, Skipp and Winks work way better together to get the ball up the pitch. It’s not like Wilf is coming in and destroying people with slide tackles or blocks, his passing at the back puts others under pressure. Mav looked great, I hope Cooper doesn’t see him as some kind of impact player for Ayew. Fatawu is stranded with no support, such a waste of a player.
-
I think Cooper feels that Wilf is too big to drop and we need his experience. He legs are shot and he hasn’t got the reaction to read the game. He just plods around not tracking, not sure I saw him make an actual tackle. Let’s see if he starts with such a negative and weaker line up against Palace.

We aren’t even benefitting from having the extra defensive player as he’s playing in an advanced role and expected to make something happen. -

Wilfs legs are finally gone aren’t they. He can only jog and doesn’t break into a sprint to close down or tackle. -

He’ll bring Soumaré on in that role. -

It will be more of the same for Fatawu. Receive the ball at the halfway line with back to goal while JJ stares at him and no one runs into space. I feel sorry for him, not being able to play the role of an attacker and do what he does best. -

Was this conspiracy on Ancient Aliens on Blaze last night? I don’t think it’s that deep and Cooper that smart. We needed a striker, we are not that attractive this season so have to get a striker who is in the same boat. Soumare is not that good at his job. -
Leicester vs Aston Villa - Pre-match Thread (August 31st)
Richmondfox replied to 420Hashish's topic in Leicester City Forum
I would like to see this team but with Skipp instead of Ndidi. Ndidi makes too many mistakes at the back, trying to dribble and puts others in trouble. I liked how progressive Skipp was last night. -
I couldn’t see a clear strategy. When they sat back Faes would do his kamikaze runs when a quick pass to Ricardo would be better to try and break down. Ricardo seemed reluctant to put a ball into a dangerous area. I would’ve thought that would be useful with a shithouse like Ayew. I’d like to see Fatawu and Ricardo running with the ball and attacking together. I did like how Skipp looked more progressive and wanted to get up the pitch quickly, shame it was to Ndidi in the attacking roll. No one would run into space to help out the wingers so Mav had to take everyone on or Kasey runs to the middle and overthinks so ends up doing nothing. He’s so much better around the box when he can just react. Hopefully the CBs stop with the walking football so high up, like against Fulham and get the ball to Skipp quickly.
-
Mavadidi is having to do everything on his own with no support from Thomas or Ndidi running into space to draw defenders away. The same that happens with Fatawu in the league so it must be down to the manager. Ricardo could do a lot better by just putting a cross in at least once. Kasey would be better alongside Ayew, when he has time on the ball he overplays and does little, in front of goal he can score. I like how positive Skipp is looking, having Ndidi in front doesn’t help.
-
Faes doing so many of those annoying runs where he could pass to Ricardo straight away but runs till he’s levels then passes back to him.
-
He has to try and take everyone on as no one attempts to offer themselves up into space as he holds the ball up.
-
Yet Ricardo and Mav who now won’t play against Villa.
-
It’s probably too much flair for Cooper.
-
I’m not expecting anything different to preseason and the last two games. Lack of tactics and lack of ability in areas. Sometimes we play out quickly, sometimes back to walking football at the halfway line to get caught out. More excuses from Cooper blaming something other than his choices. I’m hoping Radio Leicester actually press Cooper to explain what his reasoning is for his team selections. Or at least follow up questions to his rambling non answers. I don’t expect much from RL other than arse licking and milquetoast barely an opinion views because they are too scared to upset the club. City win.
-
Next game will be Vardy, Ayew and Reid with Hamza or Soumaré behind. Young hungry players with lots of prem experience and work hard in training.
-
He would be more useful next to Winks than Ndidi. He did a stupid back heel with no one behind him, constantly passed to no one and tried to dribble his way into trouble several times.
-
Forget the points, the negative comments are regarding lack of tactics, style of football and player choices. My concern is he thinks what he is doing will work and he’s onto something and not smart enough to work it out. Leaving a young player who is on the rise and smashed in goals and assists last season for an older less skilful player who peaked at Fulham People keep using the word pragmatic to describe him, I’m guessing the meaning has changed to something different. All he had to do was a variation of Enzoball without the ****ing around at the back and not such a high line. Then adapt from there. So far the foreshadowing before he was selected appears to be correct, the negative preseason comments seem to be correct and now 2 games in they seem to be correct.
-
Changing those players will improve the team, reduce mistakes and add energy and attacking ability. I have no faith in him just for putting Soumaré and Ndidi in attacking positions towards the end of games, is it Hamza’s there n turn next game. His pre season choices have carried into the season. Let’s see if this will carry on over the next cope of give him ten games.

1-2 Fulham, A Post Match Thread

He’ll start them both in the cup so he can use that as an excuse to not play them in the next league game. Both are not good but I’m undecided if he hasn’t got a clue or thinks what he is doing tactics and team wise is the best option. -
From watching all of pre season and the first two games, do you think any of it is unfounded?
-
Prem experience but not ability. Reid and Ndidi are done. Ayew will be a shit house but we need energy around him. Too slow out the back making the same mistakes. Vestagaard and Faes were much better last week when they were just concentrating on defending, not controlling the pace of the attacks.
-
I can’t see any tactical logic for not playing Ricardo, Mav and moving Ndidi all around the pitch and expecting to be creative or bringing Soumare on up top. I’m sure radio Leicester will be too scared to ask any probing questions and will be full of milquetoast critiques.

Ok let’s come back in ten games. He’s making the same stupid choices as he did in pre season. I’ll trust my instinct and my eyes for now. I don’t need to taste a dog shit sandwich to know what it is. -

It doesn’t help when the manager and players are making it even more difficult.
