Yeah but we need to talk about Tom Hanks (maybe in the tin foil hat thread).

Then I'll become like the majority on here who for some unknown reason moaned ****ing week in week out about Marescas football despite us being top of the league all year. If we are midtable with Cooperball then I still won't be enjoying because it's hideous.
-
Maresca was fine. Wasn't boring for me, I love the tactical side of football and IMO it was infinitely better on the eye than this shit.

Sposed to absolutely fook it down for Parkrun tomorrow. Bring it on. -
Me too, mentioned that on the previous page! A nice (and different) tasting stout for sure.

True enough, issue is one is classed as a Terrorist Organisation, the other is a Western backed Government.

I wouldn't consider it a restaurant in the the traditional sense but Martin Bros on Queens Road is excellent if it's all about the Pizza - those guys were trained by masters over in Italy. Do a few craft beers too. Opening hours are a bit shite and it's very 'cafe' looking inside but...

10,000 North Korean troop heading to Ukraine you say?

Ah, thanks Was considering doing the 10k there in a couple of weeks, mainly because I'm looking to do a few 10k before the Leicestershire Half in February. Had this on the list, plus the Mallory Park 10k in January but thats a lot of time (and money) to stare at an airfield and a race track... -

Yeah thats the one! -
Sorry, completely missed this. Not really anything out of the ordinary. I usually end up drinking San Miguel or Guinness. They have a few ales on tap but nothing that stands out. Their sister pub The Clarendon has Neck Oil on tap so I don't know why the Cradock doesn't. It's a shame because the Cradock is a really good pub with a good vibe. It's ALWAYS busy, in fact, I've never known a pub that is consistently that busy. You could go for a pint on a Tuesday evening or Wednesday lunchtime and the place is buzzing, whereas most gaffs are empty until Friday and Saturday nights. Good set of locals down there too. Beer garden is fantastic, have a lot of live music and stuff like that on in the summer, Barbecues and the like but most of it;s ticketed and they usually have to have bouncers on because people end up queuing down the road. amazing numbers of people in there at all times considering how big the gaff is. Food is alright, but I'd say overpriced. If they put on a few unusual/local beers it would be top notch IMO.

Anyone ever done the Prestwold hall runs and are they worth the 30'odd quid? Also, the Harborough Tunnel vision run looks like it might be something a bit different -
The US now desperately trying to reign Israel in, though I fear it's far too late.

Would help if they existed.

I think the most shocking thing which quickly becomes apparent from the book is that it does testify to the fact that Neoliberasim isn't a choice of Government, it's the choice of a small number of conglomerates and billionaires who basically lobby the Government into neoliberalist policy through a series of lies and manipulation (and backhanders or vested interests). Some of these 'thinktank' organisations at the heart of pushing Neoliberalism are now held at the heart of everything we do and Governments and the Media hold them up as the authority on a given subject, where the reality is the 'thinktank' was literally set up with the goal of pushing neoliberalist policy and lobbying Governements - such as the Institute of Economic Affairs - which are often quoted on BBC news and similar with 'factual' economic information (the names usually sound very official and authoritative but the reality is they are just an extreme lobbying group and everything they say is contrived to push neoliberal economic policy for the benefit of those behind the thinktank). The same mysterious thinktanks are at the heart of Climate Change denial, so we are being screwed twice over. The book does a good job of linking all these 'institutes' and 'thinktanks' back to a very small number of neo-liberal billionaires and corporates. In the end, it isn't Governments making fiscal policy at all...it's a couple of Billionaires hiding behind thinktanks. It's frightening.

Yes, I meant really the western world and in particular the big 'financial powerhouses'. And yes, my definition of working is 'working for the common person' rather than the lizard elite.
-
Doesn't matter which party is in Government anymore, they all follow the usual Neoliberalism route which means just more of the same, a widening gap between the wealthy and the poor and an economy built on only making the already wealthy even wealthier (and that's it's sole purpose). It doesn't work, it has never worked and the inner workings of economic Neoliberalism are borderline criminal. For those that haven't read it, read it. It confirms everything you already thought but to see the reality spelled out is pretty horrifying.

I'll have a look at Titanic I've heard good things about St Ives Brewery's 'Zennor' but I've not managed to get my hands on any.

Been drinking a fair amount of Brewdog Black Heart, really like it. Find it much smoother than Guiness (especially as an at-home drink). Black heart Camden Stout London Black Guiness What's your favourite?

There's absolutely no way I'm carrying water on a 10K. Decent hydration starting a few days before and a decent glass of water followed by a p*ss an hour prior to the run and I'm sorted. 10K for a lot of people is between 35 and 55 minutes running, that would be like taking water on my pre-work morning run. Can't see the sense unless it's 30c out. -
100% agree. Apparently it was for the safety of students. Or at least the ones who can't be arsed to walk LITERALLY 10 metres.

The actions of Israel cannot now be justified by a sane human being.

Good luck everyone for tomorrow, wish I'd kept my spot as my achilles is nowhere near as bad as it was. Managed a 26:30 Parkrun today, 2 minutes quicker than last week so the plan for a sub 25 before Christmas is looking doable.
