Posted sub-29 at Vicky Park Parkrun today for the 20th Anniversary. Had plenty left in the tank but started too far back so you end up practically walking the first half-K with congestion. My aim now is to post a sub-25 by the end of Spring. Hoping to do the Leicestershire half in February now IF and its a big IF I can keep on top of injuries and niggles. Mo finished in 15:03 and consistently in that ballpark now so expect he'll be breaking his own 14:58 course record in the coming weeks. Amazing to see and makes me feel slow as fook.

Think maybe parents are a bit too namby pamby these days? Summer Holidays when I was a kid I fooked off out at 8am, came back for tea and then fooked off out again until 10pm or later. The best of times and it kept mum and dad happy.

I'm sure I saw some science on this recently that debunked this. Generally parents perceive it's more dangerous for Children now based on a host of different things such as social media, increased negative news coverage, better crime statistical analysis and reporting/recording of crime etc, but the crime, health and environmental stats indicate that actually it is far safer today than it was 20 years ago for Children. I found it really interesting. Also, kids today are shorter, fatter, generally less physically and mentally healthy than they were 20 years ago and much of that is down to lack of outdoors time, lack of face-to-face socialising, changes in parental style etc. If I can find the study I'll post it up, was really interesting.

True enough, but at least 45,000 Palestinians have been killed. Israel could kill every single member of Hamas and it would still amount to less than half of that figure. There are probably between 10 and 15,000 Hamas fighters in existence (and thats at their strongest point). Its by no means an 'Army'. So even in BEST case scenario (and, frankly, that's a ridiculous notion), to every Hamas fighter killed, 2 civilians also lose their lives. That's a level of 'collateral' that Is beyond horrifying, let alone reasonable.

Todays Pensioners are literally the wealthiest generation to ever live - I see absolutely no reasons why they should get given money WITHOUT means testing. Nobody else gets given money without means testing including the very poorest in society, so it makes perfect sense to me to at least means test the wealthiest generation before giving them hand-outs. Fact is 85% of over 65's vote Tory, so it was always going to cause a storm.

This. People blag interviews all the time, in fact it's the shittest way to determine if somebody is right for a job or not - trust me, come to my workplace. You can train for an interview, you can get really, really good at them, but it in no way means you are suitable for the job you are applying for or not.
