Arghhhh. Apart from the enforced change at right back it's going to be the same team that we keep playing and losing with isn't it???? Even when we've been awful in the past I've always stayed optimistic and seen a way to smile through the bad times. Rodgers tenure changed something, the last season he was in charge I saw a team that shouldn't implode. This wasn't like it was in the past when we yo-yoed our way between leagues. And right now I'm almost apathetic. I've missed 2 games this season, and I wasn't that bothered, (especially when I saw the scoreline). That's not like me. But damn it, we need to show we want to win by recognising we need to change the tactics and personal. Yes we're woefully weak across the squad, but I still believe there's a starting 11 in there that can compete in enough games to help us scrape over the line. But we have to act now (and it shouldn't have taken this long).

Surely he's got to change something.... I'll admit on evidence thus far he's trying again and again with the same dross that keeps ... surprisingly producing the same kind of result, but surely eventually some part of him will say ... we can keep playing this way and lose, or ... try something new and hope for a better result. If not, Leicester could appoint me. I'd work for half of Ruud's wages, and at least try new tactics to find a way to win a match.

We have 4 centre backs all more comfortable playing in a back 3. I don't like back 3s but at least try it to sort out our defensive woes.

Swap Ayew for Buonanotte, and play him and Khannouss in the hole behind the striker, and I'd still start Vardy over Daka.

Was going to suggest just this. As I've said recently in other posts, I don't like 3 at the back, but our centre backs are all centre backs who are used to playing in a back 3 (probably because other managers realise they can't cope in a back four). Maybe we need to adjust our tactics to match our players strengths. Also I'd much rather have Khannouss and Buonanotte on the pitch together than Ayew and Reid in the team. I think Kristiansen will play better as a wing back than full back too.

Not sure how that's relevant in this thread on RVN but hey.

Let's take the positives from the match: We're not Southampton.

We look less secure in midfield with him off. We needed to chase the game, and I'm glad RVN didn't just do like for like. I'd have much preferred he took off Reid for Buonanotte before they scored the first one.

It's a sucker punch. We've not been too bad for most of this match, but we're just not able to stay focused at the back for the whole game.

Too late, but at least we've gone full attack.

We've created chances. We've had lots of nice crosses into the box, which we don't always produce. We've just not got enough shots on target. A season long problem (even back when we were scoring more).

Damn it. Bring on Buonanotte now please RVN. Leave Khannouss on. Through caution to the wind and try it.

His signing has never been the big problem. Yes we'd all have preferred someone younger who could take players on, and yes he might slow some of our attacks up at times, but he's scored a few, looked threatening at times in some games. Solid back up player, who probably wouldn't have got so much game time if Fatawu stayed fit, and Mav hadn't gone off the boil. We wasted our transfer pot on other useless signings ... (like Skipp)

Just about to say that. I want to see Buanotte on, with Khannouss staying on too.

Think we've more chance if Man City get docked 100 points. We'd still let Ipswich get ahead of us though.

It's the Skipp fund that's indefensible. You could argue (I wouldn't necessarily agree) that at least one of Reid or Ayew could be bought as backup, but imagine if we'd invested in our defence or another proper striker with that £25 million.

Just to be clear I meant the last 3 minutes, (although we've not been anywhere near as poor as we have been at times this season the rest of the match we've not looked that threatening the rest of the game either).

Watching Khannouss whipping that ball in, we're lucky to have him in the squad, he works hard, and is integral in everything good we do going forward. If only we had a similar player to him on the bench who could help share that burden on the pitch 🤔.
