He’s a great player. The big clubs will be sniffing soon. Let’s hope we can keep hold of him.
-
Maguire will be great for them imo as much as it pains me to say it
-
Would rather he didn’t go obviously he’s a good player whether he become great remains to be seen. Not really any emotional attachment to him he’s only been here a few years.
-
They’ll put us in to bat for 10 overs this evening. Smith is ridiculous. Must be so frustrating bowling at him Root is not a bad bowler either.
-
He’s been in denial ever since Ferguson left. He refuses to accept they are in decline. I take great pleasure in reminding him on a daily basis. He said to me yesterday that Man Utd paid 65 up front and 15 million in add ons. Just to try and justify the price lol.
-
I think I could have handled him going anywhere else but Man Utd. I work with the most delusional Man Utd fan in existence and he’s going to become unbearable. He actually said Maguire was no better than Smalling last season. Now he’s trying to justify his price tag. He just talks so much crap it’s unreal.

Sky sports have his highlights on loop. It’s nauseating.
-
We deliberately overpriced him thinking there’s no way they are paying that only for them to go and do it. It’s a phenomenal bit of business. But on the other hand he could turn into a great signing for them and the amount will soon be forgotten . Or might turn out to be of the most hilarious transfers of all time. Time will tell I guess.
-
I can’t actually believe they’ve gone and paid 80 million for him. That is ridiculous.
-
He’s just going for money basically. Not that I blame him. Let’s not all pretend we wouldn’t take a massive pay rise. Man Utd are a big club steeped in history but is Maguire going to achieve much more with them than he would with us at this point? There not in the UCL and I can’t see them qualifying next year either. He would do well to sit tight for a year and see if Man City come in for him next year.
-
I’ll be disappointed if he goes. I think he’ll go on to be top class personally.
-
Do Man Utd not have any shame? 80 million for Maguire? These guys are desperate.
-
They will be in the bottom half by Christmas. Solskjaer doesn’t have a clue what he’s doing.
-
Man Utd still seem to think they are in a negotiation lol. This isn’t a negotiation. Why hasn’t that sunk in yet? 80 million or he stays.
-
They’ve always done it and they’ve always got an easy ride for doing it as well. They literally just overpaid for a player a few weeks ago.
-
At this point I hope we sell him to Man City for 40 million just to troll them.
-
Maguire is one of several options lmao. No he isn’t. Their transfer policy is poor these days that’s why there always getting mugged off.
-
Should just sign everyone on a one year rolling contract and be done with it

This situation is going to keep arising with all our top players who will want to leave when the big clubs come calling. I’m not trying to be cynical or anything but it’s the reality. If Maddison keeps on improving a big club will come in for him. Same with Tielemans down the line if he keeps on improving. In fact I’ll predict right now Man U will make a 100 million bid for him in a couple years lol. Like others have said there’s always going to be pressure to find a similar or better standard replacement.
-
I could understand him wanting to go Man City because I think he’s the type of player Guardiola would get the best out of and I could actually see him improving even further there. But Man Utd? They are basically competing for the same position in the league as we are. I can’t see them breaking back into the top four anytime soon either. Unless they’ve got some top quality signings up their sleeve? So yea in conclusion money always talks .
-
Good money but disappointing to be losing one of our best players.
-
How times change eh. Rejecting 70 million from Man U for our players. I think he’ll go for 80 plus add ons.
-
Man U are desperate lmao
-
I’ve always rated Maguire think he’s a quality player and exactly the sort of player Guardiola likes. But it’s difficult to turn down 80 million if that is indeed true.
-
Yea sure we can delay it for a bit but it’s inevitable in the end.
