I just don’t see how they’ve come to that evaluation. We’ve literally just not long sold them an inferior player for 80 million. And they think they are going to get Maddison for less? They have set the standards themselves in terms of valuing players. It’s just a really strange offer. Man U have always bought big. But at least they used to actually find players for reasonable prices who went on to be top class. Their current policy is not really sustainable no matter how rich they are. Waiting for other teams to take a chance on someone and then paying through the nose for them. Literally every team they do business with now is going to ask for extortionate prices. But players will always want to go and play for them because like someone else mentioned they think they will be the difference in getting them back to challenging again. Just look at the cost of their squad and how bad they are. And Maddison is too big of a risk to pay 100+ million for. Which is what they will have to pay if they want him.
