Of course, we couldn't have agreed a deal that made us physically worse off unless we took the view that getting rid of him and booking a few million loss less saving on his wages could be offset against the pure profit we made on the likes of McAteer and Ndidi etc. History suggests we probably made the wrong decision just like we did with Iversen and even more recently Luke Thomas to Hoffenheim.
-
I'm led to believe this is not the case and he has opted to do this. Hopefully he can now justify dropping some of these experienced players and point out he gave them ample opportunity but he is now focusing on player development longer term. I have a feeling he won't though as he is weak.

Agony when you find out we rejected bids for him from Betis last summer
-
It is possible to consider the managers not good enough as well as those above them.
-
Exactly, we have an appalling history of moving on players with only 6 months of their contract to go.
-
Agreed

Whilst he's limited to a degree, pressing requires mobility and pace throughout the side and yet it seems he's purposely picking the slowest players we have. This is why Aluko has to come in at full back, we are so lacking there it is frightening. Carranza and Ayew might as well sit the season out now, they simply cannot be carried in this side. I know that only leaves Daka who is approaching 1 goal in 50 appearances but we have to get pace across the entire front 3. I'd honestly try 3-4-3 / 3-4-2-1 I reckon. Stolarczyk Okoli Vestergaard Nelson Ricardo/Fatawu Winks James Aluko Fatawu/Monga Daka Mavididi

Well they should have accepted the bids they got last summer then because his stock won't grow whilst we completely ignore him but that's classic Leicester.
-
I would not be at all surprised if we fail PSR for 24/25 too which will be known before the end of the season.
-
I cannot believe how slow he is, utterly pathetic when he came on vs Wrexham the other week and then yesterday was something else. It's like we pride ourselves on signing players who are criminally slow, like it's some sort of niche attribute we go for that makes us different to the rest. Baffling
-
Yeah Kristiansen's performance yesterday made Luke Thomas look like Maldini last week.
-
Think that is very likely.
-
We will get relegated this season and quite comfortably too. We'll be left far worse than we were found by Aiyawatt. What an absolute pigs ear of it he's made.
-
Bottom line, if they cannot get a chance when the 1st team are this poor and with a chunk either looking to leave or will leave in the summer so have no future and minimal asset value then stop pulling pissers thinking they ever will. The priority from our decision makers above and in charge of football seemingly don't have the bravery. There's simply no trust there, it's so sad to see. Cifuentes has disappointed me so much.

I feel like I could do 10 episodes on the Brendan years and still not scratch the surface. It is so compelling, and utterly baffling. -
Development/Youth Squads 2025/2026 Thread - U18/U21

I think this makes me angrier than no Ben Nelson, Aluko, Page or Evans in the 1st team. It literally makes no sense, there's no risk of playing him in the U21s for his progression nor any pressure that it would be at the expense of a player on millions a year. He aced it at U18 level last year, had to be convinced of his future and pathway at Leicester in order to sign a pro deal and yet still is kept back. He's started this season scoring at an obscene rate again and proven to be far too good for that level now and yet still no recognition and promotion up the ranks. Decision making like that just makes it so easy to absolute hate everything about this football club. -

Do you think there's an element of the youth England squads are picked based on the big clubs rather than the best players in their age group? There is obvious correlation but it is so rare to see a small club have much representation at England youth level. -
The 25/26 Stat Topic - “Statistically Terrible, Visually Even Worse”

Said this on the other week, read a fair bit of criticism on Stolarczyk for a few perceived mistakes but he is simply been our most important player so far this season, by rights we should be comfortably near the bottom 6. -
Hooters when Souttar returns? I'm paying.
-
I'm wrong anyway, we've actually a good home record vs them bar the FA Cup game the year we got relegated in 22/23 and last game of the season after we'd won the league in 23/24.
-
Aren't Blackburn another one of those teams we have a really poor home record against in the last 20-30 years? Cifuentes badly needs a win.
