  1. A Guardian piece with Andy King https://www.theguardian.com/football/2023/sep/21/andy-king-leicester-return-bristol-city-strange-emotional
  2. I watched the game last night and it seemed to be a poor affair with mediocre passing that resulted in a lot of handed over possession by both sides. Our defending must have improved over last season otherwise we would have conceded 5 goals from corners last night, or maybe the attacking prowess of opponents isn't as good as in the premiership. I like to think its down largely to having a better keeper but he did a couple of silly passes outs last night straight to a Norwich player. He could have been chipped when he passed from outside of the box straight to a yellow shirt. Our old guard didn't play particularly well last night, Vardy was largely uninvolved and Natcho had a poor heavy first touch all night. I'm liking Winks and Madidivi because they move the ball faster than most seem to manage. Casadei looked like he was wearing lead boots last night, at one point in the centre circle he was on his own looking at the ball at his feet yet unable to pick up his feet, almost fell over then surrendered the ball, very strange. Then at the end of it all, HairDo ends up topping the season player ratings. Its footballing life, just as we know it. A bit strange.
  3. Vardy isn't even a shadow of his former self.
  4. Have to say - it's all pretty poor so far.
  5. If anyone needs a stream PM and I'll forward the one that I'm watching. Good till 20:15 so I don't get inundated.
  6. I found a stream. Really good clear and stable picture. There are 30 players on the field, 64 minutes in and they are throwing around an oval ball.
  7. Has bout 30s of the build-up
  8. I missed the game but looking at the forum match ratings its the first green gong since Tottenham last year as far as I can recall, that was almost a full year of abject yellow. It's good to see fans enjoying the football again after such a barren period during the decline and fall of Rodgers. It's telling to see how many Rodgers rejects from Cags, to Perez even through to Lurch that have come good since.
  9. I think the top signing of the Top era that made a real and immediate difference was Robert Huth, he was a genuine guy who has a genuine love of the club and his partnership with Morgan is something we have never matched but should continually aspire to. Could anyone imagine us stringing 5 clean sheets together these days? The only one to run close would be Kante but he was only here for one season which is why I'd have him second.
  10. Looking at our opening displays I worry what would become of us if we did gain promotion this year. There is only one position that has been obviously strengthened over the side that was relegated in a sea of new faces so you could only conclude this is a weaker side over the one that dropped last season. I think Derby County when I look at the prospects for this current side in the EPL with limited fire power and Lurch as the linchpin defender.
  11. I like giving to charities, the non woke kind so to add in a bit of random to my donation next year I figured this team in this league is one big unknown. I'll take the figures from the end of August and multiply the correct pick number by the number of correct pickers and donate £5 per spot on choice up to £1k. Polling ends 31st August 2023. It'll be interesting to see how accurate the predictions fall if nothing else and I'll be a bit poorer in pocket but enhanced of soul. I tend to give either to the air ambulance or a local hospice.
