  1. There's a chance that with those that have to be given game time they improve and the squad is better not worse after Afcon.
  2. It's hard to see the bigger picture when you conceede so late, but so many me included were frustrated with the injury record of the squad under the previous guy, so we do have to try and see the bigger vision. If we had 4/5 injuries we would be up shit creek.
  3. Luckily there's only 3 of those in the league so 20/23 times we have a great chance.
  4. They didn't really threaten as we defended well, but a 1 goal lead is always dangerous and its frustrating that we were not more positive to get the 2nd goal. This team doesn’t look like it has a clean sheet in it when put under 45 minutes of sustained pressure.
  5. Its painful because we conceede in the last minute. Nacho takes one down on his chest and plays KDH in I think, Daka wouldn't of done that. Overall not enough done to go after the 2nd goal and secure the win, lack composure in key counter attacking moments, makes Winks knjury time winner at WBA look all the more remarkable.
  6. We do look a bit more solid at the back, and the longer it stays 1-0 the more chances of some counter attacking opportunities present themselves as they commit more forward.
  7. True but while it's 1-0 the scoreline doesn't reflect this.
  8. We have looked good suprised with the amount of possession we have had. Other than the goal, highlights were random pub I'm in in Telford spending 5 minutes looking for the Man utd game, me getting pissed off at them changing the channel and yelling out "Manchester United are on Amazon Prime"
  9. Pass against Brentford yes and the goal against Burnley in the 4-2 game, but yeah I wouldn't be able to think of a third thing.
  10. Demari Gray was like that, never really did anything much most of the time, goes to Everton and scores 2 or 3 times and he was Mahrezs replacement despite no evidence suggesting that for 3 years.
  11. Surely Doyle has proved more in a Leicester shirt than Praet? I'd be happy with either options though.
  12. If he starts today that's 2 games in what 76 hours, whereas he will start 2/3 games. Every game is treated the same under Enzo, this is just another 3 points to play for. Remember the oh we could have had a bigger lead after the Leeds defeat talk, and now the Leeds gap, same as what it was, I trust Enzo.
  13. Better in air? A leadership character? Protect Justin, two games in a couple of days with his injury record. Our defence has been exposed against Birmingham, its likely to be exposed against a better attack. We will also have less possession.
  14. I didn't even watch that game, a European semi final, and that result felt so inevitable after what I seen in the first leg. It was at that point I realised, I wanted a new manager. A painful 12 months ensued. We aren’t out the woods yet, I remember how optimistic I felt before the 4-0 Liverpool battering when we were flying high. Its hard to know what Ipswich are after that Leeds result, I do think they will be far better than that at home.
  15. Keegan finished 2nd in his first season up and like Enzo wasn't to experienced before taking over Newcastle. The difference between then and now is the big 6, Newcastle, Brighton and West Ham are quite established. I'd say Villa are a bit more like we were If Emery and a couple players go they could soon tumble down. Every other team next season is fair game to try and finish above over the course of a season.
  16. I wouldn't even worry about places next season, if I was Enzo like I thought the season after we won the league I'd set the goal at 50 points, 40 seemed too negative then. That points total will achieve a comfortable league position.
  17. Other than the results, we have noticed changes at Half time in games either in tactics or personnel. He is a guy that is a student of the game, he will subtly modify the system game to game and in game when required, which was very evident for example against Millwall recently.
  18. Everyone that left other than maybe Barnes had come to the end of the cycle, its the reason we got relegated not selling established players and reinvesting. If you think our squad is currently significantly worse than Fulham, Bournemouth and Wolves who are 13th-11th currently I'd be shocked. We have just missed the mid table stage between Europe and relegation, pretty much in both directions up and down. I'd expect us to finish 11th-13th next season without any real threat of relegation.
  19. This isn't 2015 anymore, yes Burnley have had one good season to get promoted but we have had 6 good seasons since then (top 10), our bar is a lot higher, there mentality has always been survival. I did expect Burnley to do a bit better than they have. Our expectations will not just be survival next season.
  20. I trusted the owners, other than keeping Rogers 6-12 months too long, most of their managerial appointments have been successful. I had more faith in Enzo than I did initially with Ranieri. Top gets stick and unfairly compared to Vichai, but he did appoint Rogers 4 months after the death of his father, which transpired into the most consistent 3 seasons (back to back) we have had other than the MON seasons in the PL era.
  21. Reading did finish 8th the next season in the premiership, I do think it creates a strong winning mentality the more dominant you are. We know that ourselves from April 2015-May 2016, when you have strong momentum it can flow into the next season.
  22. I'd love the gap to keep growing so we can really sign some PL quality in Jan giving us 2 windows to fine tune our team and squad.
  23. The foundations are now far far stronger for us than in 2014, people say about there being a lot of dross in the championship but I think there's 5-6 teams every season in the PL that just tick over don't really do a lot, won't get relegated won't get Europe. Ya likes of Palace, Brentford, Fulham, Wolves, Forest, Everton. With the right decisions made over the next year or so, a top 10 finish next season isn't beyond the realms of reality.
  24. 15 wins 4 draws 4 defeats seems attainable.
