We lost 11 games that season and we had some moments late on where looked like possibly missing out to Ipswich and Leeds for automatic promotion, so I don't think it was easy. We nearly faltered.

But to be fair to Ayew, that's not his strength. The guy works bloody hard, perhaps overly trying too hard or selfishly, but he'd be better in a support position. Your comments on James are spot on. Other than a scuffed shot, he was excellent and worked hard for the team and showed up well.

Felt we were clearly the better side. Could have won, perhaps should have, especially with the Mavs miss, but the point isn't a disaster at this stage of the season. Sadly, we aren't good enough in creating enough good chances and when we do, we aren't clinical. Thought Winks and JJ were good as was Fats before the interval. Monga definitely class. Mavs sadly had a mare, Vestergaard seemed determined to play us into trouble late on. Set pieces are awful. Think we'll be close to play offs if we can sort the lack of creativity and clinical finishing.

Was cool and composed today and worked hard. Good acquisition.
