Contrary to what he let's off or wants you to believe, I believe he suffers massively from confidence issues. Not growing into the player everyone thought he would be straight away has probably rattled him and second guess himself. Definitely looks unsure of himself and confused most of the time on the pitch.

I can almost see what Rodgers was trying to do today. Although, It was unfortunate that the whole game plan went out of the window 8 minutes in. That being said, not once has playing with 2 defensive midfielders gifted us with any fluid attacking play. It's managed to get scrappy points, but today it didn't pay off. I hope he shakes off that conservative baggage he has and start playing to our technically gifted players strengths rather than wedging them in!!

Rodgers had plenty of time to think about this one, but got it wrong! This time we weren't good enough to take something away from the game. We lost nearly every 50/50 in the first 20 - What does it take for us to start a game with real intent and speed? indeed, if we lose today, it will be down to Rodgers' conservatism. Yes it can work against certain teams. But it clearly isn't something we're good at. All he needed to do today was to keep it simple for the lads, play them where they thrive and shove a boot up there ass and go out and play. Too much respect today for united.
