Based on what I'm seeing on both social media and my wider family, which is obviously a very small sample size, I'm afraid I don't share your optimism.

Oran is on our list for next year. Agreed it looks great, and is supposedly one of the most accepting parts of Algeria. It looks incredibly vibrant and I'm really looking forward to it

My husband thought he'd hate it too, but he loved it, so hopefully your mum will be the same. Report back on Agadir please, I have a new found love for all things Morocxo especially since I've realised it's not only pretty much on my doorstep but also lovely, cheap, amazingly friendly and has beautiful food so we're keen to explore more of it

Benidorm definitely has it's place, and as a stag venue it's probably hard to beat. The old town is lovely if you get the chance to leave the strip If you do decide to stay on afterwards the Alicante area is a lovely part of Spain and often overlooked, have a look at Albir, Altea and Alfaz del Pi, places we visit a lot and love. Quaint but vibrant, lovely places to eat and drink, and the tram system between them all is great too.

I've taken time off with depression and returned to the same workplace. The thought of returning was far, far worse than the actual return, it was fine and people were very understanding and just pleased to see me back. Without wishing to downplay your achievements in your role we are all dispensable as employees, so do not fret about how they will cope, they will, and anyway it's their problem not yours. Your priority is to get well so focus on that, sending you lots of good wishes, and don't forget we are all here ready to listen if you need.
