Bloody hell lads let’s not over react

Fwiw I think the team structure looks better when Daka plays, I’m not always sure why because it’s not obvious that he’s doing anything in particular. But across the whole season I think a lot of the good team performances have come when daka has started. Admittedly he can’t shoot to save his life. But I don’t think it’s a black and white as Vardy should always start.

We’ve definitely not been good enough recently, we look mentally broken when things don’t go our way and when teams score against us, we cannot find the back of the net, poor substitution decisions - all these things he has to take some/all of the blame for. That said the players have also got to shoulder a lot of the blame. On this really poor run of form I think there’s only 1 or 2 games that we definitely deserved to lose and the rest of them we should have won, and won comfortably. Enzo could have been different and maybe we could have won those games, but we’ll never know. I think people that are comparing this to the end of Brendan are miles off the mark, the players are still playing for him and you can still clearly see the game plan, even if it’s not currently working as well as it has. The way we took the game to Bournemouth and Chelsea despite them being in the division above and with academy players filling in, was really different from last year when we were second best against teams in the divisions below. I think we’ve been really excellent this year in general, and I know lots of people will say that we’ve got a premier league squad that’s too good for this division but I don’t think that’s the case. We’ve clearly got a good squad relative to the division but it’s really unbalanced, full of players wanting to leave and with contracts expiring so in general I think Enzos done a good job getting the best out of them for the majority of the season. If we don’t go up it will be a failure on his part, but we don’t know yet. And if we do go up I’d be as confident if not more in him than I would any of the other realistic appointments. He’s far from perfect, but considering how new he is to management I think he’s done a really good job, especially if you compare him to Pep, Klopp and Arteta in their first season who all really struggled and some fans didn’t think they were going to work out.

Enzo completely outclassed again tonight, shown by the scoreline and the table. We’d be much better off with the tactical genius nick dodds who got one over Enzo tonight -

Your missus must be fuming with the amount of bed sheets you got through tonight. -
Yeah fair play - he’s got them losing 1-0 at home.
-
Feels like they’re lacking confidence in front of goal. At the start of the season I reckon mav and KDH shoot instead of pass.
-
This is being played at the pace of a pre season friendly. Not necessarily a bad thing as long as we don’t become complacent and lazy.
-
Agreed - for me it’s his biggest asset, the intensity at which he presses his opponent is phenomenal and at this level it really scares them and pressures them into making mistakes. Even without the goals and assists it’s reason to start him over the others imo.
-
So Rudkins pulled off a blinder?👀

Think cannon needed a rotation, started really well in his first few games but looked far less impressive in the last couple. At Coventry he was awful. Plus Daka was on good form before he left and did a bit at afcon too.
-
Cannon didn’t keep the ball when we had 11 players on the pitch. At half time I was thinking he could come off for Mcateer but then we’d struggle without a recognised striker. The tactics and changes didn’t work, but I don’t know if the there was a clear alternative option either.

Lamin Sonko is a gem, would love him here. Unbelievably talented dribbler and puts a great shift in. Get it done rudders.
-
Tbf he’s never really shown he’s been a player capable of playing above leave 1 before this season, and now he’s had 2 injuries which have limited his minutes. I hope he’ll be treated like Marcal and Hamza and get given new contracts, then worst case we can shift them all in the summer for a few million.
-
Bit surprised to see so many compliments about him considering we rarely saw him play. When he was in the squad last season he was fine but not great, and kept booting it out of play from goal kicks. His mistake for that Blackburn goal was also one of the worst bits of goalkeeping I’d ever seen. I suspect he’ll have a decent career in and around the championship and league one. Surprised that viktor Johansson is still in the championship as he’s pretty poor too.

agree on both of those, thought it was Yunus’ best game for us. -

Feel like the winks and Vestergaard ratings are a little harsh. The way those two control the games for us is a little under appreciated I think. Vesty completed 136 passes from 145, that’s just a crazy amount of responsibility on his shoulders, even if a lot of them are short and simple passes it still requires so much awareness, control, disciple and skill to be able to do it to that level for the entire match and it’s a very similar story for winks. They both earned an 8 in my eyes. Lots of people have said how comfortable the game felt and that came from those 2. -
He definitely wasn’t a car crash last season. He had a couple of lows that were really bad, but his general performers were one of the best in our team I’d argue. I think we would have been in a far worse position last season if we didn’t have him. He’s a capable premier league defender, but I do wonder if he’d get exposed more next season if he’s still playing in the same role. I would be back him to be good enough tho.
-
There’s so many players that I could still see leaving, either through contract running out, not good enough, not wanted or some development loans Souttar, Praet, Ndidi, Iheanacho, Daka, Smithies, Ward, Iversen, Albrighton, Madivadua, Braybrooke, Alves. It’s not usually a buyers market in Jan but if teams come to us I think they could get some pretty good deals. In terms of who I think we need to bring in I think a left footed defender, an 8, then a winger or striker depending on who leaves.

Tbf that Fatawu one in the second half was bad, in the prem with VAR I think he goes there. I think it is accidental because he’s close to getting the ball but he’s also close to seriously harming him. At the same time we were far better than them so he can stop moaning. -
I think he has much more fun playing this style of football than just hoofing it. I think loads of the players will love playing this way, they will never have had the ball so much before. He’ll make mistakes, hardly anyone has 100% pass accuracy so you can’t expect a 23 year old goalkeeper to do so.
-
Easy to say in hindsight that it didn’t work but we’ve rotated heavily several times this season and still won. We’ve also been on a bad run of form so I think changing it up and trying new things was probably a good call too. It was also against the worst team in the division and the players on the pitch were good enough to win.
-
If he does this and players pick up injuries because they’re burnt out then he’s showing his inexperience by not rotating. As much as I like MoN, Pep regularly and constantly rotates his players and I trust him more than MoN. We’ve got to rotate or we’ll get tonnes of injuries, after the few years we’ve had with constant serious injuries I think it’s a fresh perspective that we desperately need. Yeah we’ll drop points, but hopefully means we have more players ready for the first time so when we do get injuries then we can easily replace with someone who’s already up to speed.
