You must be mental if you think the second half is the season is the part I chose to tune in for, that was the worst bit🤣 But I think you misunderstood my point slightly. He’s living the dream. He’s playing for his local club where he’s been in the academy for years and he’s getting to play professional football at 16 years old. And he looked so disinterested, I think it’s genuinely heartbreaking because his interests are clearly elsewhere. And that’s the bit that I can’t understand and what’s why I’m critical of him. If he was then effective on the pitch, I could live with it a bit. But he’s not, he doesn’t look ready for this level. He had some promising performances at the start of the season, but nothing more and they were few are far between. At the start of the season I expected Ayew, BDCR and soumare to be careless and disinterested, I think we all did. But I didn’t expect it from Monga, and I’d be genuinely very surprised if you argued that you believed he tried his best.
-
Very surprised at the keen defence of him. I genuinely thought he was an embarrassment for the entire season. He played with no passion whatsoever which I cannot understand from someone in his position. Nelson, page and aluko all showed more fight whenever they played. I think if we clipped up his performances people would see he was worse than average. Gave the ball away a lot and never tracked back. Monga might have talent (although we’ve never really seen it) but I didn’t see anything this season that convinced me he wants to be here so for that reason I’d be more than happy to see he him leave. He also just looks too small and weak to be playing men’s football atm, he’s clearly very good at u21 level but think he needs more time there to get used to a physical game.

I voted them out on this. But I think the main argument for keeping them is that it’s actually really easy for them to get it right. I think they only need to make a few changes to hierarchy and create a clear structure and long term plan (this is all really basic stuff but we seem to be missing it). They’ve done a lot of good since being here and I can see us having good times under them again if they sorted their ideas out. For me it’s taken them too long so I’d like to see a change. But there’s loads of risks with new ownerships too, I’d hate to be owned by an oligarch, equity firm or a gulf state, which then leaves very few options. More than anything I just want to see some fight on the pitch.

Not to just pick on you, but I’d argue that even more annoying than the so called “happy clappers” are the ones that complain about them, but do absolutely nothing more than them to bring any change. Loads of people on here claim we should boycott or start a protest but nobody does anything. We complain about the lack of organisation and action by the club but EVERYONE in the fanbase is exactly the same. I don’t see the point of complaining that some fans arent doing enough when nobody is doing enough.
-
I don’t think a lot of this team at all, in fact I actively hate 75% of them. That said, they are clearly better than what we’re seeing here. It’s not just that the sum is less than the parts, but far worse than that. He really is the worst manager I remember at this club. QPR doing much better without him too.
-
The worst we’ve been in my lifetime. Completely bereft of quality. There’s no unity, no effort, no plan. It’s obvious Marti will get sacked at some point because he’s so far out of his depth, just hope he’s gone before the end of the season.
-
Sean st ledger? Was his debut that Bristol game where he was at fault for everything?
-
Page has to start imo. He’s the only midfielder that actually runs and looks like he’s interested. He’s far from the finished product but we’ll be far better as a team for having players that care.

Nelson having a stinker 😂

James Pearsons goal in pre season. Seemed to fall off the radar after that, not sure what happened.

I think we’d do well to get our money back on him tbh. He had an average season and we’re not in a strong position at the negotiating table so I think £20m would be pretty good business. -

I sort of understand the Ayew over Facundo decision, i don’t think he suits the wing, he’s not direct enough and him and BEK end up occupying the same spaces. I don’t really rate Ayew and he’s not direct either, but he at least holds the width which gives more balance. -

The possible points deduction would have played a part too, as well as the clear financial problems at the club over the last few years. Top that off with one of your best players leaving - it wasn’t the most appealing job.
-
Forest and Blackburn under Rodgers were bad, they’re the first ones that come to mind.
-
He crosses that last season - there was an attack plan last year
-
I think he might be intentionally sabotaging us…

I think passive is a little unfair, most passes for us today and most tackles. The tactic doesn’t suit him, and that’s partly because he has a very defined way of playing, but I think he’s a really important, composed player in the middle of the pitch.
-
Also not sure I agree with this. Both Justin and Kristiansen have surprised me with how well they’ve done. Thought they both won the majority of their duels and had skme nice touches on the ball. Neither of them are brilliant and if you’re a side above 15th then you’d want to upgrade them, but for a side aiming for 17th then they’re what we have to expect - they aren’t the problems with this team/tactic.
-
It’s funny but I thought it was the complete opposite, I think he looks brilliant even at this level. Compare him with wharton and it’s obvious why the top 6 are chasing him, he’s really good. But winks is a really solid player too, very good option for the clubs outside the top 6. Him and skipp are a good duo imo and keep hold of the ball really well, but they’re not creative which is why we need players around them that are. Neither of the full backs create, ndidi doesn’t create and nor does ayew so I think that’s why we look so blunt. If you put buenanotte in front of them and ricky at rb I think we can really dominate a lot of teams in this division - Palace were there for the taking today for example.
-
I thought he was pretty decent, definitely not our worst player. Just checked who scored to see what rating he got there and was a 7, our joint highest. And on sofascore he was a 7.5 and highest rated player in the match! I know these are based on stats so are flawed as the stats can’t cover every aspect of the game - but it shows he generally won his tackles, kept hold of the ball and created a few chances. I actually came away from the game feeling pretty positive about him. If he plays like that every game and is our worst player, we’d end up comfortably mid table. Much bigger problems to worry about imo.

They’ve tried hard and got stuck in - a few players are looking good namely winks and skipp in midfield. But we’ve got nothing going forward, we look like we’ve got attacking players that can’t score goals, and that’s exactly what ayew and ndidi are. -

Kick off might be the furthest forward that team gets.
