This makes for such grim reading -

This is from Sessegnons wiki page under ‘Guinness World Record’. On 27 May 2019, Sessegnon achieved the Guinness World Records title for 'Fastest time to hit both football goal posts and crossbar', doing so in just 7.75 seconds. It’s a yes from me.

I agree with those saying he’s a very likeable character and he clearly loves the club, I also think he’s improved loads this season as previously he didn’t look like a very good league 1/2 player. That said, does anyone really think he’s got what it takes to be a premier league player? You’d probably name 20/30 attacking midfielders/wingers who had a better season than him this year, and probably only 10 or so that would comfortably make the step up into the premier league. As much as I like him I can’t see why we’d keep him if a few decent offers came in. There’s quite a few players in this team that that I like, that seem to be good lads and are not bad players, but probably aren’t worth taking the risk of trying to keep us up when there’s so much at stake. I’d include McAteer, Hamza, Cannon & Coady in that bracket - they’d probably make us £20m in sales and a lot of salary off the books that could be reinvested into players that are more likely to contribute next season, even if it’s loans and free transfers.
-
As much as I like Coady and he seems like a good guy, can we really rely on him next season if he was deemed not good enough for the championship? Let’s be honest, in this system Vestergaard is better than him but there are obvious questions around him. I think it’s worth trying to keep him and betting two mobile centre backs to play either side of him.
-
Someone I work with is a Newcastle fan, and he genuinely swears that they are a better team when he plays and says he “makes them tick”. I’m yet to really see it myself but I’d still be surprised if someone who is playing as regularly as he is come to us.

Enzo Out? Time for an official thread/poll

I disagree with most of that in all honesty. All the teams have qualified mangers and coaches and performance analysts who decide how they should play against us, you can’t really believe that none of them thought of pressing us? They decided against it because they thought the best chance was to sit back. And that’s worked for some clubs but not worked for a lot more. We’ struggle in the prem no doubt about it, but they’d definitely be benefits of not having to break down a really low block every single game. Burnley have been found out because they’re a terrible team, there’s next to no prem players in that side at all and it’s the same with Luton and Sheffield and that’s why all 3 are in the relegation zone. Most people on here seem to struggle with being impartial and you either have to hate Enzo or love him. Overall he’s done a decent job, lots of us thought we’d really struggle this year and for 6 months of it, it was a walk in the park. No doubt we’re underperforming at the moment and if we don’t get promoted this year then it will be a failure on his part. -

I think a lot of this is fair tbh. I dont think he is a great fit for this squad of players, and the fact he has stuck to his way of playing has really highlighted his stubbornness and the players lack of ability. That said, some of the football he’s got us playing has been fantastic at times, but we’ve really struggled against teams that just sit back, which hopefully won’t happen if we get to the prem. -

Nah Leeds didn’t have a shot on target until the 65th minute or something, we were absolutely all over them and should have been 3/4 up before they scored. Then they went on to score two deflected goals. The finishing in our team over the last 10 games has been appalling, if we had an average championship striker we would have won a lot more of the games recently. All our strikers have been detrimental to the side. It’s probably time to give cannon another go but I’m not convinced he’s the long term solution, but he has enough about him to give us a boost over the line. -
A quick glance at the league table and we are still top, so I don’t think the bloke can be that bad can he? Personally I think he’s done an extremely good job. He walked into a club that was in a very bad way with lots of unhappy players, out of form players and players who want to leave or are on the verge of contracts expiring. Most of us expected that it would be a slow start and we would struggle to begin with, but we set a record of the most points/wins after 15 games. Most of the players have bought into his idea and it seems like they have a really good connection with him, especially when you see that video of the celebrations the other week. He’s clearly not been perfect and parts of our football this season haven’t been good enough, last night being the worst of the worst. I think he’s still got a way to go and from an untrained eye he seems to make some weird decisions with subs, and the swapping of KDH and Ndidi. But on the whole I would say he’s been pretty tactically sound and done a good job. I also think the squad is very unbalanced and not many of them are really capable of playing his style of football which is why people are complaining and I get those complaints too and the suggestions to switch to a style of play that more of them are comfortable with. But I think it’s important to have an identity and way of playing as it gives the players more confidence and rhythm. United are a good example of when a coach abandons his principles to try and fit the players, and it’s complete chaos, none of them know what to do and everyone watching is asking what kind of team they are. Our recent form is concerning and isn’t acceptable - he has to should his share of the blame, but I’d argue the tactics weren’t the issue in most of the losses and it was more to do with woeful finishing. I think the reality is he’s somewhere in the middle, he looks like a good up and coming coach who needs some fine tuning. If we go up I think he’d be a good coach for us and not sure we’d get better.

F#ck me, we’ve had terrible commentary all season but as soon as it’s two women everyone loses their minds. Get a grip.

Fwiw I think the team structure looks better when Daka plays, I’m not always sure why because it’s not obvious that he’s doing anything in particular. But across the whole season I think a lot of the good team performances have come when daka has started. Admittedly he can’t shoot to save his life. But I don’t think it’s a black and white as Vardy should always start.
-
We’ve definitely not been good enough recently, we look mentally broken when things don’t go our way and when teams score against us, we cannot find the back of the net, poor substitution decisions - all these things he has to take some/all of the blame for. That said the players have also got to shoulder a lot of the blame. On this really poor run of form I think there’s only 1 or 2 games that we definitely deserved to lose and the rest of them we should have won, and won comfortably. Enzo could have been different and maybe we could have won those games, but we’ll never know. I think people that are comparing this to the end of Brendan are miles off the mark, the players are still playing for him and you can still clearly see the game plan, even if it’s not currently working as well as it has. The way we took the game to Bournemouth and Chelsea despite them being in the division above and with academy players filling in, was really different from last year when we were second best against teams in the divisions below. I think we’ve been really excellent this year in general, and I know lots of people will say that we’ve got a premier league squad that’s too good for this division but I don’t think that’s the case. We’ve clearly got a good squad relative to the division but it’s really unbalanced, full of players wanting to leave and with contracts expiring so in general I think Enzos done a good job getting the best out of them for the majority of the season. If we don’t go up it will be a failure on his part, but we don’t know yet. And if we do go up I’d be as confident if not more in him than I would any of the other realistic appointments. He’s far from perfect, but considering how new he is to management I think he’s done a really good job, especially if you compare him to Pep, Klopp and Arteta in their first season who all really struggled and some fans didn’t think they were going to work out.

Enzo completely outclassed again tonight, shown by the scoreline and the table. We’d be much better off with the tactical genius nick dodds who got one over Enzo tonight -

Your missus must be fuming with the amount of bed sheets you got through tonight. -
Yeah fair play - he’s got them losing 1-0 at home.
-
Feels like they’re lacking confidence in front of goal. At the start of the season I reckon mav and KDH shoot instead of pass.
-
This is being played at the pace of a pre season friendly. Not necessarily a bad thing as long as we don’t become complacent and lazy.
-
Agreed - for me it’s his biggest asset, the intensity at which he presses his opponent is phenomenal and at this level it really scares them and pressures them into making mistakes. Even without the goals and assists it’s reason to start him over the others imo.
