I agree he’s been a ghost - but what on earth do you expect him to do here?

I know people complained about having possession for possessions sake last season - but at least we actually had possession! Anything/anyone that was a positive last year, is not a positive in this team/system. Winks, Mads, Vesty, Ricardo, Fats, Mavi - none of them are positives anymore. We have literally nothing.

What is the tactic? What are we trying to do? Looks like we want to play out the back but have no plan on how to do it, winks drops deep but then everyone else is 30 yards in front of him. Then we defend with bodies back but none of them do anything? Just statues.

Is cooper still being paid by forest? Just curious

It’s just depressing isn’t it. Surely this isn’t the best line up we’ve got? There’s so many question marks about so many of those players - and then to play them in that way just makes it worse.

I’m surprised so many people wouldn’t start Vestergaard, I know he has some really obvious flaws but I feel like his relationship with mads and winks is the best way for us to progress the ball up the pitch. After that I’m not sure what else we have.

He is absolute garbage, Ajax are only charging that much because they paid out big for him. He’s a ghost on the pitch, never does anything and was terrible for spurs too. He’d be a bit like tete all over again.

He was good for a few games and then poor for a few games. I think it’s definitely too early to say he’s good enough for the prem.

I actually think he’s great, he’s one I thought we’d go for if Enzo was still here. I’d try and buy him straight away because worst case he’d be good in the championship. They bought him for pennies so might not even cost £10m.

Well that’s a hypothetical situation so you can’t really tell. Would they have survived if they had been docked 4 points after the season had finished? No they would have gone down on goal difference. But they might have won more points throughout the season if they knew that was coming, much like Evertons bump after they were docked points.

He is absolutely desperate to bring players in isn’t he. I do sympathise with him a bit, the club is an all round mess - he is a part of that but he’s not getting any help either.

I don’t actually think it’s that bad, it’s the first pre season game I’ve seen and I’d expected a lot worse. We’re not creative but we’re not completely incompetent on the ball either. Some players mean the system isn’t perfect and I don’t expect us to do well at the start of the season, but I did expect worse. However, their striker running through on goal and our defenders backing off so that he can get a shot away p1sses me off massively.

You say that but most of the players spoke incredibly highly of him, Winks said he was the best manager he’s worked under. I know they’re likely to be positive about their current manager but it always seemed to be that the players really enjoyed playing for him and enjoyed having so much of the ball. It’s definitely more fun than sitting back and defending for 90 minutes anyway.

I don’t think this has much about entitlement. Firstly, the things that have gone wrong in the last few years has been around giving older players/players that don’t deserve it, big contracts and then we can’t shift them. I would be very surprised if this is anything shorter than a 3 year contract and for a 31year old that means he’ll have no re-sale value, and for a winger he’ll be at the very end of his career. And I could forgive those things if it meant we were signing a really good player. But we’re signing someone who played 1,400 of minutes for Fulham. So it’s someone who isn’t even good enough to regularly start for Fulham, which I fail to see how is that inspiring. There’s a lot of negatives and not a lot of upside so I think it’s fair that people are disappointed if this is the winger we’re singing. He’s not terrible back up, but he’s not capable of being much better and he’s already 31 so we’re not going to make any money on him either. The only comparable singing in recent years that I can think of is Coady, who’s been disappointing and now doesn’t offer us much at all but we’re stuck with him for at at least 2 more years.

There is a lot of negativity around this signing and I know it gets tiring reading it all, but it’s not like most of us haven’t seen him play. He’s been an average (at best) prem player for 5 years so we’ve been able to see him fairly regularly and I honestly can’t remember ever watching him play and thinking that he’s a good player. He improves the depth but not the starting 11 and he will be on pretty significant wages as I can’t see him taking a pay cut from what he was on at Fulham. I just don’t really see the positives in it, there isn’t loads of negatives either but it’s not going to make a massive difference to survival so I’m not sure on the point of it.

Willing to give everyone a fair crack, but this is shaping up to be a really terrible summer for the club. Losing the manager and KDH, to getting in cooper, a kid that’s never played, a centre back that doesn’t seem to be rated and essentially a worse version of ayoze Perez is making me dread this season. Feels like we’ve significantly regressed from where we were 6 weeks ago.

Fofana is a good player, will go on to be a very good player in the future imo. Didn’t look bad for Burnley either when I saw him. He plays like a modern forward.

Feels like just moaning about nothing really.
