  1. Was going to say this too. 100% pass accuracy tonight, 80 passes, mental.
  2. Extremely disjointed so far. Been said by lots be Kel has been so poor, this system falls apart if one person keeps losing possession. Casedei not much better. Winks playing well but everyone else is pretty meh.
  3. Checked the Southampton forum to see what they were saying about Martin as I read there was a Martin out thread. I’ve not seen a single positive thing said about him yet, they all say he’s as bad as Nathan Jones 😂
  4. I don’t think fewer passes is the way to create better chances at all. There will obviously be transitions where being more direct and vertical with fewer passes will be the best option but I think in our game those opportunities aren’t going to crop up that often anyway. I think we just need to be more comfortable and confident in the system, once everyone understands what they need to do they can strath thriving at it.
  5. Yeah for once I was actually quite impressed with a Tanner article. I think it highlights our strengths and weaknesses really well and I think it provides a bit of balance that everyone on this thread needed. Imo it settles the argument of “pointless possession” and just “passing sideways and backwards” as the number of shots and passing sequences leading to shots numbers are relatively high. But it does explain that we have been very poor at creating high quality chances, as I think we all expected as well and although we take lots of shots, many of them are from suboptimal positions. I’m hopeful this will just come with time and there aren’t many glaring changes we need to make to ideology, just execution and confidence.
  6. If that high press Liverpool tactic focusing on energy and transition is so successful then why are Liverpool themselves not still doing it? And why have they decided to focus on a more possession based style? And why are there so few teams in England that are purely transition teams these days?
  7. I love the cross field pass thing from that half space. It’s the sort of thing Klopp has done at Liverpool with Trent and Robertson spamming so many crosses into the far post, it’s so so effective and I hope it’s something we regularly try.
  8. Pep loves players that are excellent 1v1 dribblers, their team is full of them: Grealish, Doku, Silva, Nunes, Kovacic all excel at that and it gives you such an advantage if you have a player than can regularly beat someone in a 1v1. Enzo won’t look to coach it out of him, only teach him how to be more effective at it for the sake of team.
  9. I think the points about us not being creative enough are entirely fair, I just think they have to be taken with perspective. Realistically nobody thought we would win our first 6 games or have this many points yet. We all expected a pretty calamitous start to the season with the amount of preseason fixtures we had, the players we lost and the few players we’d brought in at the start of the season. All that with a very inexperienced manager and back room staff. Whilst I’d say 6 positions (GK, Defence, Winks) are relatively clear, the other 5 positions highest up the pitch we are still a way off knowing who are best players in this system are. KDH, Ndidi, Casedei, Praet, Mcateer, Wanya-Marcal, Albrighton, Yunus, Mavididi, Fatawu, Vardy and Kel have all played their parts so far this season but nobody has settled and we’ve not seen the best from any of them. There’s going to be a lot of changes before we get to that point and I think we have to be patient and understandable that we’re not going to be at our strongest attacking force just yet, but I fully expect us to get there and be very effective once it’s all sorted. New players, new manager, new tactics, new division. It was always going to take time, we’ve done very well so far, but there’s more to come.
  10. Will be a big test for our defence. We’ve gotten away with quite a bit this year due to poor finishing so against better strikers we might have to be less open.
  11. I think we’re absolutely fine, we just haven’t worked out our best/strongest 11 yet. We had 11 shots from inside the area yday against a team that were packing bodies in the box and trying to encourage us to just hoof crosses and shoot from outside the box. I don’t think we’ve been as creative in the first 5 games as we’ll need to be to comfortably go up this season, but I also don’t think we’ve seen our strongest team yet. The window has only just shut after all. Casedei in for Ndidi and working out our best striker and winger options will change the way we play. For example we created lots of chances after Mavididi and Fatawu came on.
  12. If you have over 20 shots I don’t think the creativity is the issue. We might have been slow at times today but we had plenty of decent chances. Our shooting was just absolutely woeful.
  13. Yeah poor finishing but plenty of chances, we did dominate and Hull weren’t comfortable, they were throwing bodies on the line.
  14. We did all of those things? Hull were far from comfortable
  15. I see we’re a fan base that still like to overreact. Noted.
  16. They’ll be a lot of negative comments and a lot will be fair. But to have that many shots and hit the target that few times it just one of those days. Could easily have had 3/4 goals imo.
  17. I’m surprised by how fancied Ndidi is. Given his clear lack of playing ability Enzo must really value his energy and defensive prowess.
  18. Some questions of the starting 11 but the bench is stacked.
  19. They’ve got less than 1xg but scored 6, Rotherham have a higher xG 😂
  20. He’s on his 5th Leicester manager now, there might be a reason he doesn’t play enough.
  21. He’s only once scored more than 5 goals in a league season for us.
  22. slightly misleading when one of those assists and the only goal came in a cup game against league 2 opposition. He’s played in 4 championship games, starting 3, against bottom of the division opposition and he’s yet to score. I really like Nacho, but I think most people would agree he’s not a prolific scorer and maybe we need that in this team.
  23. Dusty

    Wilfred Ndidi

    Going to bloody Forrest 😂
