  1. Common people for me, very sad but very funny in equal measure.
  2. Hope they batter them with their giant toothbrush.
  3. Cheers, so their supporters apparently take a giant toothbrush to the ground. Interesting…..
  4. I have genuinely never heard of Bodo. I will need to google to see where they are from. 😂
  5. Physically, but maybe not emotionally. Big difference.
  6. Yes some of it is ridiculous, but that sums up much of social media for me. Just a lot of noise and hot air. I prefer to concentrate on the matches themselves and try and be as objective as possible. 🤥
  7. Just beat Real Madrid 5-1 over 2 legs. If I were a neutral watcher, neither of those games were dull, but each to his own. I am not crazy about him either, but a lot of managers get on my nerves these days.
  8. I find the anti Arsenal sentiment on here amusing, assume it stems back to our over celebration of the 2016 game, but that is ancient history. I look forward to both semi finals and would love us to play Barca in the final.
  9. Wenger really didn't have much of a playing career either, as he started off in the amateur leagues and then played a dozen times for the mighty Strasbourg. 😂 Mourinho is now just a parody of himself.
  10. You sense correct. I have said it on here before that Arteta has spent in the region of 800 million in his five years at the club, but trophy wise has nothing, but a covid FA cup to show for it. No club has a devine right to win trophies, but with Arsenal’s set up I would expect more. I, of course have to give him a fair bit of credit for getting us back competing in the league and of course last season we pushed Man City to the brink. However, I tend to now think that he has hit his ceiling and we won’t get so close again under him. I would love to be proved wrong and we are halfway to a CL semi final after all. I do find him though on a personal level, a rather irritating character.
  11. Reunion on BBC iplayer, excellent emotive revenge drama set in the deaf community. Some outstanding acting by the leads and it really conveys the isolation and frustration of what it must be like to be hard of hearing.
  12. Tough game tonight and it won't be a good look for Arteta if we go out, since a three goal lead has only been overturned four times in the knock-out stages of the CL. He has a lot of fan boys though, so can’t see it making much difference to them even if the worst does happen.
  13. Badenoch judging her on recent appearances looks particulary ineffective even for a Tory leader. I don't think she can take any comfort either from a recent IPSOS survey. I would expect her to be jettisoned well before the next election. https://www.ipsos.com/en-uk/boost-keir-starmer-ratings-improve-public-think-his-government-are-doing-poor-job-issues-matter
  14. Can’t see that second hand car salesman getting anywhere near the levers of power, like to think most Brits are not as gullible as our American cousins.
  15. If/when you get your case reopened you should be sent whatever evidence was supplied to the court. Difficult to plead without seeing that first.
  16. Have you been advised to make a statutory declaration? In other words you were convicted without you being aware of the case, because correspondence sent by the police/ court was sent to a previous address and you make a sworn statement to that effect. If the courts accepts it they will reopen your case. Pleading guilty normally reduces your fine by 33% so a fair chunk off that big fine. I worked in a magistrates court for a number of years, so saw hundreds of these cases.
  17. Me too. Thing is this happens every day in the US anyway and if the technology was available, any morality goes out the window.
  18. Yes I would have thought so, or at least hoped so.
  19. Apparently worth around £93 in today’s money, so more than I thought.
