  1. Not sure why this scum bag won his appeal, when the Judge agreed with his sentence. So he ended up spending 3 nights in prison for a sustained attack on someone already on the ground and then told police a pack of lies to try and blame the victim. Wow. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ce8yy0116y8o
  2. Snowpiercer season 4 on ITV. A long gap between series, but enjoying it as much as ever.
  3. Crimson Tide for me, a masterclass of acting opposite Denzil Washington, who is pretty decent himself.
  4. The great Gene Hackman found dead with his wife. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cewkkkvkzn9o
  5. Nice to see Trump’s diverse cabinet, oh no wait.
  6. The Queen’s Gambit for me, sheer emotional overload. I don't even like chess.
  7. EON next, what is it with these energy companies. We are in arrears with our account, but have a plan in place to pay them off by the end of March. I had a long chat with their customer services on Friday and received an email to confirm the conversation on the same day. Yesterday I got a call from EON asking to speak about the account, as I was slightly suspicious I asked them to send an email. The email appeared to be legit so I rang them this morning. They wanted to know when I was next intending to make a payment and I said this was discussed on Friday. They then wanted to know other details, which were also dealt with on Friday. I told them this and they got quite defensive. I decided to end the call quickly and rang their complaints dept, because this started to feel like harassment. The lady purporting to work in complaints told me that an automated system makes the call (because the account is in arrears) and the customer services person then picks up the call, once the caller has passed security. The customer services person has therefore no idea about why the call as been made and doesn't seem to read the notes. I said that was ridiculous and advised her that once we have cleared the arrears will be looking for another supplier. I have now just received two texts from them starting with the line “Great to chat!” . No it f**king was not!!
  8. Love it, wonder what the name of his local boozer was called and whether or not he had a wheeler dealer older brother, or an uncle that was in the merchant navy. 🤣
  9. Salzburg in a couple of weeks. Any suggestions? Please note I hate musicals, which rules out anything connected to The Sound of Music.
  10. Sorry quick answer before I go to bed! Re your last paragraph, when your manager spends 800 million(the figure widely bandied about) you expect the club, who btw charge 141 quid for some cat A games,to actually win the occasional trophy. First para, I would like to think they hire someone with experience of winning trophies and not a rank novice just because they were Guardiola’s assistant. I do think this money is obscene btw.
  11. I think that there are a certain amount of fan boys/girls, who seem to care more for the manager than they do for the club. I am sure that in their eyes Arteta has been a success at the club, they will point to successive runner up spots and of course last season we did push Man City all the way. So whilst many of them will be happy for him to continue, many other supporters like myself have seen through him and know they have as much chance as flying to the moon, as Arteta has of winning either the league title or champions league.
  12. Yes and no, Edu was heavily involved in bringing ‘duds’ like Willian, Jesus and Sterling amongst others to the club. He was certainly no David Dein, however he at least had a football background. The new guy (Director of Football Operations) James King I know very little about, apart from the fact he was at the club previously between 2016-2022 as legal counsel!🤨. There have been rumours that ex player Tomas Rosicky will rejoin the club in the summer as Sporting Director ( he is currently at Sparta Prague). He is a good mate of Arteta and of course an ex team mate, so that does not feel me with great confidence. The concern is that the American board are pretty clueless, so who exactly questions Arteta’s transfer strategy.
  13. I have started to form the opinion that he is the Spanish Brendan Rogers with better hair. Maybe he can take over at Celtic once Rodgers departs, as its the only league he’s likely to win.
  14. If the club had owners with serious ambitions ie actually wanting to win trophies, rather than a Wenger like obsession with top 4, then Arteta would be removed at the end of the season. It won’t happen because they don't.
  15. Completely mirrors Man City’s season.
  16. Hope this is an entertaining game and they kick each other to pieces.
  17. I’ll get my kit ready as I reckon I can’t do worse than Sterling. 🤣
  18. You’re be lucky! We can’t cope with a low block and we have a slight problem in scoring goals. 😂
  19. Yes The Shield is top-tier alright.
