  1. The whole incident reminded me of the pantomime act by Lehmann and Drogba.
  2. Bit of a legend Kolo Toure. During his trial at Arsenal, he started off by taking out Henry and Bergkamp, then finishing the training session by tackling Wenger two-footed...
  3. Simple solution. Manager Swap! Rodgers to Villa, and Stevie G taking over at Leicester. Yeah, course...
  4. Better at Strictly than at managing, which says it all really. Had he only danced as well as he played....
  5. Steve Bruce just got sacked at West Brom. Well you know...
  6. Had my hopes you could have put a dent in them, but this seems a hard walk right now. Fair enough, they were very efficient, 6 goals in 11 shots on goal, but still.
  7. I thought you started decently, once the goal went in, that seemed to knock the stuffing out of the players. Doesn't look like they are playing for the manager.
  8. I honestly thought that would be a rather bizarre signing. Surely astronomical wages, no resale value, doesn't know the league and will only deteriorate. Not sure that is such a good idea.
  9. Maybe get Fellaini as well. He's 34 too.
  10. Aye, I guess we'll know soon enough. Not much left of the window. I'll be honest to say that I would love him at Arsenal.
  11. I haven't seen any rumour from a reputable source that we have bid, or are in for him.
  12. Signing 30+ players is a dangerous business, as is signing players that are looking for their last pay day. We got burnt with Willian, though credit to him, he was willing to cancel his contract. We've far too often given generous contracts to players that then becomes almost impossible to move to on. On the whole you are better off looking for someone 20-25, and then hoping you get it right.
  13. It is an amazing opportunity for Eddie Howe. It'll be interesting to see what he can do with it.
  14. With the money that's behind Newcastle, they'll be the next Man City.
  15. Isak to Newcastle is a coup for them.
  16. I think in general, not just in this transfer rumour, the figures banded around tend to be rather wild. Overall, if something comes from Ornstein regarding this transfer rumour, I'd be inclined to believe it. He tends to be accurate on things Arsenal. I still have no clue if we are even interested in Tielemans....
  17. Would you really swap Rodgers for Dyche? What are you hoping to achieve by that?
  18. Not sure this Cutts bloke is in the know. Had it come from Ornstein, I would have believed it. I seriously doubt you are asking £50m+.
  19. I think he is a good manager. It didn't work out at Arsenal. Partially due to taking over after Wenger, I think that was always a tricky gig. His results speak for themselves though, but I think he struggled a bit with communicating with the players, and it certainly didn't help that the club was in turmoil with the board wanting to impose a Director of Football structure after Wenger had run the show. He carried himself with dignity, and he seems a thoroughly decent man.
  20. When you look at the transfer fee, it is a disaster signing really. That isn't really Pepe's fault though. Raul lost his job over this transfer, and rightly so....
  21. There is a player there, but it hasn't come off for him at Arsenal. I think Mourinho's misgivings about this transfer has been proven more or less correct. Mourinho on Pepe - I believe he is quite short on confidence, and he might feel that going back to France is a safer bet to get his career back on track. For us, it is all about getting his wages covered, and hopefully be able to sell him next season after a successful loan spell. By all accounts, he is professional, never complains, but he hasn't managed to adapt.
  22. Tequila by the Champs, I believe.
  23. I'm rather partial to Laura Woods after she put Jamie O'Hara and Agbonlahor back in their lunatic boxes.
  24. Based on this game, I don't understand why some are talking about "relegation". You're far too good for that. Surely the goal is European football.
