Tbf he's been Spurs' best player (low bar admittedly) and most likely to make something happen. Should've scored though but put in one of his typical powderpuff finishes.
Maybe a luxury tax is the way to go - like in the MLB and NBA. Spend what you want, but you are taxed above a certain threshold and the tax is then divvied out equally amongst the other clubs.
Palace had to give him a one-year extension to get the loan through. He was entering the final year of his contract, and apparently PL rules forbid loaning out a player with less than a year to run on their contract.
But we have already had to submit our 23/24 accounts to the PL, along with Everton, Forest and Chelsea I believe. So I guess some figures could be being leaked out to journos with good contacts.
It'll be an interesting little case study for the usefulness of xG. They'd be in 8th place if the league was ordered in xG so it'll be interesting to see if they deviate to the mean and slowly fall away.
