  1. Incredibly risky that last play before the tying field goal, Packers could easily have left with nothing
  2. Blue Jays AL East champs and #1 seed in the AL
  3. Yep, you can probably put a fork in the Tigers, there's no coming back from that kind of collapse. Even Skubal looked well ruffled by the Guards, almost felt sorry for him!
  4. Blue Jays and Tigers choking away their long-standing leads in their respective divisions, in the last week of the season
  5. Christ, Packers find a way to lose to the Browns
  6. Fascinating last week of the regular season coming up. Jays making heavy weather of trying to clinch the AL East. Scored a miserable 3 runs in the last 4 games, Bo Bichette being a huge miss. I don't think the Jays can do anything in October going in as a wild card, they really need to be one of the top 2 seeds. A couple of weeks ago nobody in their right mind would have thought the Tigers wouldn't be winning the AL Central, but Cleveland, wow - won 14 of 15 I think. And in that kind of form, they must be favourites to win the division, with a final week home series against the Tigers coming up as well. In the AL West with perfect timing the Mariners have finally overtaken the Astros, having just beaten them twice. Mariners look like the strongest all-round AL team to me. In the NL, it's only really the last wildcard spot that is up for grabs, with the Reds and the Diamondbacks hot on the heels of the Mets for the last remaining spot, with the Giants having more or less faded out of contention in the last week. A few months ago I covered all combinations of a Red-Sox/Rangers/Mariners v Phillies/Padres World Series, so I am still in with a squeak. I'd gladly give all that up for an appearance in the World Series by the Jays .
  7. Sweep the Tigers next week and you might actually have a great chance to win that division. Unthinkable a couple of weeks ago.
  8. Jays' top prospect 22-yr old Trey Yesavage strikes out 9 on his MLB debut to break a franchise debutant record. With Bieber and a red-hot Gausman, and now Yesavage, the Jays' starting pitching looking a lot better than it was a few weeks ago. Blue Jays now 5 games ahead of the Yankees with the tie-breaker in hand as well. And currently top seed in the AL. 12 regular season games left. Worryingly, the NL does seem to be a lot stronger than the AL this year..
  9. This worked for me, quadrupled on QUBT and sold at $4 (itโ€™s $16 today ๐Ÿ˜ฌ). Sold D-wave (QBTS) at $1.80 for an 80% profit. Today itโ€™s $18 ๐Ÿฅด. Still have RGTI (+100%), IONQ (+350%), ARQQ (-13%), but itโ€™s a wild ride
  10. Oops, spoke too soon (perhaps). Aubrey 64 yard FG to send it to OT
  11. Cowboys finding a way to lose! Credit to Russel Wilson though
  12. 3 million more on top of 693.4 million. If it's the sole reason, definitely an overreaction.
  13. I think it might be in response to some share dilution
  14. Not absolutely sure but I would say that a comet is bound to one stellar system, so it canโ€™t be a comet and interstellar!
  15. You mean 3i Atlas? No conspiracy here, it's obvious that the aliens have got hold of a copy of Rendezvous With Rama
  16. MLB Hits leader Bo Bichette placed on the 10-day IL with 19 games left. Big blow for the Jays as they try to hold onto the AL East lead, with the Yankees and Red Sox hot on their heels
  17. The defense has been energised, which is what this team needed. Itโ€™s the Parsons effect! What could possibly go wrong!? ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  18. Missed opportunity, dropped 2 in a row to the Cards to remain 4 back of the Mets in the wildcard race but now joined by Arizona and Cincinnati, with the Cards half a game further back. If the Mets continue to stumble, there could be an interesting traffic jam in the NL wildcard race
  19. The Raiders were so good in the Marcus Allen days (early 80s I think). They had a decent team in the early 2000s but are way overdue a Superbowl win.
  20. Iโ€™m expecting nothing less than a Super Bowl winning season for my Packers ๐Ÿ˜‹
  21. I'm so glad I didn't listen to Lako42, as I'd be much poorer now!
  22. The one and only college game I ever attended was in the early-90s at the home of the Fighting Illini in Champaign, Illinois - so they are my college team! The attendance was over 60,000 which was mind-blowing to me at the time. They won that day but I can't remember the opponent for the life of me. Bought a lovely blue and orange Fighting Illini hoodie, no idea what eventually happened to it. Think I might get a new one just because this thread reminded me of it..
  23. A real shame, would've loved to have gone to that
  24. I've read your mate's book, and much like it
  25. Thanks for Andres Giminez, Miles Straw and Ernie Clement as well ๐Ÿ™‚
